So I kind of had my heart set on the Magic 2021 but darn those prices are so high. I got to looking and this summer on the 10 night Norwegian Fjord I can get a veranda stateroom for 4 for 7k less than the 11 night. Would I be crazy to book this cruise now a little less than 6 months out? Would I be able to get early seating for dining and port stuff? We were think of hitting up Hawaii this year the last week of August and first week of September because we don't go back to school until Sept 8. So do I hop on this Iceland Cruise which we really want to do or do Hawaii and pick a cruise that we are meh about for 2021.

I would probably do it for this year if it works for your schedule. It's cheaper due to the timing of the cruise--starting August 20th means many kids start school before the cruise ends. The 2021 cruise is still in the pricier season on July/early August. Early seating--lots of people prefer late dining with European cruises due to later port times--so you may be able to get it by waitlist. Port stuff should be fine as well. DCL ones haven't opened up yet.

All of the cruises we booked were within 6 months of each cruise, always been waitlisted, always got off the waitlist well in advance of the cruise. Our waitlist just came through two days ago for our party of 7 on our fourth cruise in May. So I wouldn't worry too much about that. Go for it!

I definitely wouldn't pick a cruise that you're meh about! Disney cruises are very expensive so to pick one you're not excited about is a waste IMO. I would choose the one you want to go on and hold off on Hawaii until next year.

Not crazy at all! We regularly book cruises with only 60-90 days notice (for the GTY rates). Six months is plenty of time to plan flights, port excursions, etc. I'd do it!

I'm going on a cruise in April. I just booked it at the end of January.

Travel does not require 18 months of detail oriented, agonize over each point, planning. It only looks like it here because so many people are really "into" DCL and all the fun of planning. If you like the itinerary, have the money and the time, then go for it.

Even if you don't get early seating, is that a reason not to cruise? For us, in Europe, we like late seating so there's not such a rush to get back to the ship and we can maximize our "see the cool stuff in Europe" time.

If you don't like the itinerary, then for sure don't go and save your money for something else.

Thanks everyone I’m a big planner and the Iceland one worries me because I’m not crazy about being in the aft of a ship and with young kids that meal time is a deal breaker for us. I will amend my meh to that I absolutely love the ports on the 6 night med but the meh comes in with starting and ending in Barcelona. But it’s the ship I want with the ports just wish it was 7 nights and started in Italy. I over think it and deep down I know wherever we go these next 2 summers will create great memories and learning experiences for our girls

I booked Iceland for next year this morning. I took a deep breath over the price, but I've been drooling over this cruise for 3 years now. We are doing the Med this May if everything cooperates, and I am totally looking for a last minute cruise since we had to cancel our Fantasy one due to a family illness.

You will love your cruise to Iceland. So happy to have done it.

If your waitlist main dining does not come through before your trip, as soon as you embark, ask a Castmember where you need to go to request a dining change. Go there first. In 20+ cruises I never had a dining time I wasn’t happy with.

Well we booked Alaska! To be honest I'm super excited even though it's not what I originally thought. DH is very HAPPY! Our girls will turn 9 the day before we sail and I think it will be a perfect vacation for them.
