IT'S ONLY A STROLLER!

Go to the store and try it out. If your kid fits in it and you can comfortably push it, buy it. If not, buy something else. If you're tall, buy one with longer handles. If you're short, buy a smaller one.

Yes, double joggers will fit on the buses, in the stores, and through the gates. And yes, the people sitting around you on whose toes you have parked will not be happy with you.

Yes, the Mac is the most popular one here. If you ask "which stroller..." followed by almost anything, Maclaren something or other be the answer, so just go to their website and pick one. They hold bigger kids, so your 6 year old will probably fit in it. Your college freshman will not. There has to be an age cutoff somewhere. Ebay is the cheapest place to buy them, and no, the rest of the world will not care if you have an '06 or '07 model.

Yes, the rental strollers are expensive. The doubles are doubly expensive. If they are too much for you, bring your own and don't rent one.

Yes, most airlines will let you gate check a stroller and have it not count as the dreaded $25.00 extra bag. Check with the airline to see if yours is the exception. Most people gate check without issue. Some people have issues. There are no guarantees in life, especially from airlines.

On any given day, this board is filled with stroller questions. Seriously people, this is not a complicated real estate purchase, you are not commiting for a lifetime, it's not going to be physically attached to you forever.

IT'S ONLY A STROLLER!

LOL! Maybe they can make your post a "Sticky" at the top of the board!

Wow, last time I checked, this was a bulletin board called "Disney Trip Planning Forums / Disney for Families" -- a glorified description of an Online Place to Ask Questions.

Having only been reading here for about two weeks, intermittently, I find this really condescending. I'm quite sure that was your point.

As a mother of twins, buying a double stroller can cost upwards of $500. And if it will only be used for one week-long trip, surely you can understand why that's more than just a feeble purchase.

I'm a newbie, no surprise. But perhaps I don't belong here. Very sorry to have asked a question that seems to be very popular amongst families and that it annoys you to this extent. I had better luck with another forum anyhow. I'll go ask over there. Just disregard my questions here.

Peace.

I think the frustration is with seeing the same questions every week, over and over. Some people, and I am not aiming this at anyone in particular, will post a question that is the same as one a page or so back, without taking the time to see if the answer is already here somewhere. I am not saying to go through the last year's worth of posts, but to at least peruse the last 2-3 pages at the thread titles to see if there is a similar question. I personally ignore the stroller questions, because I see them everyday and everyone has a personal preference. For example, I am a Combi girl...not a Mac. To each his own.

To the OP, I mainly lurk on the board, but totally agree!

:rotfl2: I enjoyed the post/rant/advice. ;-) It was very entertaining. I double enjoyed Jazy88's post :lmao:

I am a stroller addict and do respond to a lot of the stroller questions....but the threads are popping up 2 to 3 a page since the rent hike.

Yes, this is a place for families with questions.

Yes, buying a stroller can be a big decision. Especially when you have multiple small children and are hoping for a smooth vacation.

Yes, the same questions get asked often but does that harm you in any way?

No, not everyone is near a store that they can go try them out at.

No, your hostility is not appropriate for a forum like this.

No, you are not required to read any postings regarding strollers.

No, you are not required to respond to the questions about strollers.

Yes, you have the option of passing over the stoller postings and reading something else so here is a suggestion...

save your breath and just ignore them if they bother you that much.

I mainly ignore them since then as well. There are 6 on the main page right now!:rotfl2:

Going to the store and FINDING some of these strollers is definately easier said then done. Especially where I live. Good luck finding a baby jogger, BOB, or any other high-end stroller anywhere within a 2 hour drive where I live.

I agree, one should peruse the pages a bit before posting. But that doesn't necessarily mean their question will be answered. Take a chill pill and just ignore the posts you don't want to read. If there's 2-3 posts about strollers, just ignore them. :cool1:

I agree with the PP- just scroll down past the stroller thread that is bothering you so much. You are not obligated to read these threads. They are for people who have an intrest in them. No one says you have to read each and every thread on the page.
None of the baby stores in my area even sell the Macs. They are only available on the internet to me. That is why it was important to get feedback from others who owned one before I bought my first one a few years ago. High end strollers arent in stores anywhere near me. Maybe a few hours away...
This is a community discussion board and people can post whatever question they like as long as they follow the rules--even if there are other questions the same.

You could say the same for most topics on this forum. The resort board is filled with "which resort is best/should I stay at?" The restaurant board is filled with "how are my ADR's?" If you aren't into a topic, don't read it and don't respond.

So sorry to ruffle ya feathers! Seems it being a disney related board anything related to disney would be appropriate to ask..um since kids, babies, and parents all travel to Disney and us parents have to put our kids in strollers..so who died and made you the "don't ask anymore stroller question queen!??" lol!!

I mean really wow!:rotfl2:

I think the OP has the same sense of humor as I do because I found the post hilarious. :rotfl:

when you are a newbie, yeah it may seem 'offensive' or whatnot, but give yourself a couple months and you too will want to post this same type of post.

It is really all in good sport. :goodvibes

And on that note....

No, no one will steal your stroller. I promise. Although if you plan to buy a $500+ stroller you may for your own piece of mind lock the front wheels, heck for MY piece of mind, lock your wheels!

And dare I ask? What's so special about a Maclaren? ;)

I cried the first time we didn't need to bring our trusty stroller with us to Disney-the girls didn't need it anymore.

I customized a tall single "offroad" stroller to fit two kids with some creative use of fabric, and that thing went with us EVERYWHERE, it was awesome.

I stripped off everything that added weight or wasn't necessary, and rebuilt it from the frame up. It was the Bionic Stroller, built just for running around Disney :thumbsup2 .

And it started out as just a plain 'ol Graco noah's ark print locking wheel hub stroller.

It wasn't just a stroller to me...

I think we need a picture of that Bad Boy!

THere's a handy dandy little button just up to your right called "Search". It even works! What people are saying is that it really, really clutters up the boards when people ask the same question ad nauseum without bothering to do a search. It makes the boards a lot less fun and a lot more tedious when people are too lazy to spend 5 minutes searching for keywords like "stroller rental". That's all....

I'll switch over to my big home computer once the girls are done playing on the playground (I'm wireless on the laptop right now) and post it, I don't think I have a picture of just it, but I remember seeing a photo come up on my screensaver last week of both of them curled up in it...

I was thinking the same thing.

We all use the phrase, "LOL" online but this is one of the rare moments when I seriously laughed so hard I have tears in my eyes. :rotfl:

We used a cheap Combi Cosmo I ordered online without even trying it, and we did NOT leave the parks for naps. Somehow we struggled through and had a great time ;).

Really this thread, the threads that led to it, the offense taken by some, and the amusement and concern of others are clearly indicators that we are ALL hopeless overachievers and perfectionists (yes, even me, or didn't I mention my laminated color coded schedule that was attached to my cheap stroller?)
