Strollers...I need to get this off my chest

You could say the same for most topics on this forum. The resort board is filled with "which resort is best/should I stay at?" The restaurant board is filled with "how are my ADR's?" If you aren't into a topic, don't read it and don't respond.

Ditto!! :)

With all due respect:

If someone has a question, why on earth should they hesitate to ask it?

Couldn't we apply the same logic to almost every single question asked on these boards: It's ONLY a dinner reservation, it's ONLY a resort, it's ONLY a vacation, it's ONLY a message board.

Or, for that matter: It's ONLY a question!!!!

People are trying to figure their way through the incredible amount of information that's part of a Disney World vacation. Prices for stroller rentals just went up significantly. Asking questions is the only way to find out.

Many of us haven't been to Disney in a while, a whole lot of others have never been there. The only way to learn is to ask.

I say: those of you with questions, ask away. If I don't know the answer, or don't care to discuss it again, I'll skip the thread. But I won't think any less of you for not already knowing the information you're asking about.

The search actually works???!!! 9 out of 10 times that I have tried to use it I have NO LUCK!!!

I think the OP has the same sense of humor as I do because I found the post hilarious. :rotfl:

when you are a newbie, yeah it may seem 'offensive' or whatnot, but give yourself a couple months and you too will want to post this same type of post.

It is really all in good sport. :goodvibes

And on that note....

No, no one will steal your stroller. I promise. Although if you plan to buy a $500+ stroller you may for your own piece of mind lock the front wheels, heck for MY piece of mind, lock your wheels!

And dare I ask? What's so special about a Maclaren? ;)

Thank you. Glad some people were laughing with me.

I was thinking the same thing.

We all use the phrase, "LOL" online but this is one of the rare moments when I seriously laughed so hard I have tears in my eyes. :rotfl:

Glad to give you a chuckle for the day.

Wow, last time I checked, this was a bulletin board called "Disney Trip Planning Forums / Disney for Families" -- a glorified description of an Online Place to Ask Questions.

Having only been reading here for about two weeks, intermittently, I find this really condescending. I'm quite sure that was your point.

As a mother of twins, buying a double stroller can cost upwards of $500. And if it will only be used for one week-long trip, surely you can understand why that's more than just a feeble purchase.

I'm a newbie, no surprise. But perhaps I don't belong here. Very sorry to have asked a question that seems to be very popular amongst families and that it annoys you to this extent. I had better luck with another forum anyhow. I'll go ask over there. Just disregard my questions here.

Peace.

Hey! Come back!

Stroller questions don't annoy everyone. I think that her post was just some tongue-in-cheek humor. And I enjoy the stroller questions - I'm the kind of person that does a bit of research before buying anything over $100. So, I've done some stroller research in my past (well, now it has been a couple of years!), and I enjoy helping people find the stroller that makes them happy instead of one that is just frustrating. Same goes with a Disney trip in general - I did some research and found a lot of good info here, and I enjoy giving back.

So, come back!

I agree, one should peruse the pages a bit before posting. But that doesn't necessarily mean their question will be answered. Take a chill pill and just ignore the posts you don't want to read. If there's 2-3 posts about strollers, just ignore them. :cool1:

So sorry to ruffle ya feathers! Seems it being a disney related board anything related to disney would be appropriate to ask..um since kids, babies, and parents all travel to Disney and us parents have to put our kids in strollers..so who died and made you the "don't ask anymore stroller question queen!??" lol!!

I mean really wow!:rotfl2:

This was supposed to be taken lightly...you know...funny???

Sheesh!

I understand both points. I'm not going to complain, because I just ignore the threads, but that definatly gave me a great laugh. Especially the College Freshman. Told Nic that one :)

Also, totally agree with "What's so special about a Mac?"

I got a cheap Graco Travel System, and honestly, it's FINE. $150, car seat and stroller, works perfect. My mom was a FREAK when it came to picking out a stroller (Why in God's name I brought her to help us register is beyond me), and it was like "Okay, this one pushes, it's cheap, no problems from the reviews online, good". No problems. :)

Maybe now you realize that it wasn't that funny. You don't have to be nasty to people just because they're new and not in the "clique". You could have posted a gentle reminder about the search function (which RARELY works well).
People are excited to be planning their trip. Yes, people ask the same question 3 billion times. So skip the stroller posts if they bug you so badly.
Posts like these don't make us newbs want to stay around and be abused.

Wow, it's like the time when you walk by a bunch of girls and they all burst out laughing. You assume they're laughing at you, when in fact they're laughing at something that has *nothing* to do with you. Yet you decide that they're all awful, terrible girls and decide to hate them forever.

Seriously, can't we veterans vetch about the endless posts and the newbie mistakes every now and then? I'm not going to be politically correct and extra sensitive to newbie errors. I went through newbie hazing, I made it! :wizard:

Gosh darn it I was hoping my DS who is now three would be able to cruise around in his stroller well up until his senior prom! Oh well, on to buying him a car one day. Rats!! :goodvibes Haha! You have to admit the OP was pretty funny! :)

Sorry, I have a problem with "Hazing" of anyone by anyone.

I will NOT tolerate it from a student, and I won't be a party to it here. If you desperately NEED to make fun of someone, please do it behind his or her back, via PM.

That's even worse.

Please don't leave the boards because of this. In all seriousness, we're a great group and there's a wealth of information that will be very helpful in your planning.

I have to say I'm a bit surprised at the backlash. I would have thought the college freshman thing would have clued people in that it was meant to make people giggle. If you're this easily offended, steer clear of the community boards...not nearly as many group hugs going on over there.

I don't know, I thought it was pretty funny - and true darnit! I admit it, I'm guilty of posting a stroller question when I first started out on this board  as well as OT threads which some people have MAJOR issues with. Whatever... OP was just kidding around - I'm sure she knows darn well that she doesn't have to read anything on this board she doesnt want to, and she also knows that you have the right to post/ask anything you want to.
....Now if we could only get a sticky on here about the Gay Days!! I'm so sick of those questions being posted! :sad2: Its the first week in June - the PDAs arent worse than your own hetro PDAs, if you don't want to go, THEN PLEASE DON'T!!!
:goodvibes

:rotfl2: I enjoyed the post/rant/advice. ;-) It was very entertaining. I double enjoyed Jazy88's post :lmao:

Yea, what Kim said.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You know, after reading al the hoopla about strollers I've come to the realization that I must have denied my children a truely amazing Disney experience, because all they got to ride around in was a plain old cheap Graco. Just think of how much more fun they would have had if I had spent several hundred more on a really SUPER-DUPER stroller!

I thought is was pretty light hearted and funny, and I'm new too. I've applied to be in a clique, but so far no luck.:goodvibes

My sincere apologies... it just occurred to me what you thought I meant.
Here's what I meant to say:

If one (or several) of my posts are driving you crazy, or my post this morning on misting fans was the millionth one you've read, feel free to PM a friend and complain. Have a good laugh at my expense, and I'll never know about it.

I most certainly did NOT mean to imply you should PM me and tell me I'm an idiot. (Although it may be the case.. it took a good half hour after reading that comment for it to sink in:rolleyes: )
