i need some advice on which stroller to take!
I own a quinny buzz which would be my first choice to take as its super comfortable and easy to push with a 2yr old BUT i do not want to return empty handed. I had planned to buy a bike lock but i'm also considering buying a cheap second hand stroller, so if it does get stolen i wouldnt mind.

help please!!

I have a Quincy buzz and have taken it without locking it and not had any problems. However we did get "confronted" once by a family who insisted that we had stolen their pushchair. They were really rude and actually moved my son out of the way to examine the pushchair!

In future I will add something to the pushchair that cannot be removed to make it unique.

Use the lock for peace of mind.

I can't decide yet whether to go for the big comfy travel system which I know DD will sleep in. Or our cheap umbrella stroller which I know will be easier on the train and I won't be too precious over......

thats exactly my dilemma!!
i'm leaning more towards the "bring the cheaper one along just in case" :confused3

We are taking a cheapy instead of our Quinny Buzz as I'd be heartbroken if it got stolen or damaged on the aeroplane.

Hi,

We had the same dilemma as we arrive next Monday and I really wanted to take our buggy (Maclaren XT) for our 4yr old but was told it wasn't unusual for buggies to go missing at Disney but thanks to the very helpful advice on this site we purchased a buggy lock from Argos, at only £6.99 it will put our mind at ease and let us take the buggy my son is used to :) x

i have never had a stroller stolen.
just be sure to put something very identifiable on it as they do sometimes get moved around.
put a luggage tag on it somewhere with your info on it and put a bright scarf or shoe lace on it so you can spot it easily.

btw bike locks and other devices that would lock the wheels are not permitted.
you cannot lock it to anything and CM's have to be able to move the strollers around in the stroller parking area if need be.

if you're really that afraid then buy a cheap stroller.

This is the DLRP board so locks might be allowed there?

Instead of buying a stroller or traveling with your own, I highly recommend renting a stroller. I rented a stroller a couple months ago for a trip to Disney and it was much more convenient. I rented from a Company called Bebe Gear. Their website is ******** .com I recommend that you check it out! Their prices are very cheap and they were so worth renting from.
again this is dlp board, and yes locks are allowed. We use one regularly. Just make sure to ask them if the location is ok.

I go on Monday and have had a similar dilemma! I've decided to leave my bugaboo at home and we are taking our stroller instead, it's not just the worry of it being stolen but if it got damaged or anything. I figured it wasn't worth the worry so it's staying at home!

Hi Girls,

We go on Monday too :) and I share your concern about damage and not just at the parks as we are flying to Paris so I'm actually worried that the airline may have our buggy in pieces before we even get there!! lol, but my son is 4 now so we only use our buggy on these kind of trips now as we no longer use it at home so I'm going to take the chance and go with Caz's advice and just use a buggy lock :) x

I've just got back from Disney. I took the cheaper stroller with me, and the airline lost it on the way home - I think it may be somewhere in the airport at France. So I would recommend taking the cheaper one :-) I would have been upset if my expensive one had got lost / damaged

That's pants A whole new world - I hope they compensate you.

Airline / airport staff damaged my sister's wheelchair on the way to our Spanish holiday in June. Thankfully after much effort we were able to fix it - it was misaligned rather than permanently broken - but it does show how roughly they treat items in the hold.

Just beware of what you leave on your stroller when you go on a ride. I brought a Quinny Zapp, and it did well, but one afternoon somebody had taken one of the popcorn buckets we had left on the stroller. It wasn't a big deal, but annoying, and proof that some people (possibly young children) finger other people's property.

I took my Maclaren XT on our last two trips (bigger one before then) and it was fine BUT we went on Eurostar so less chance of being damaged and I took a small Koo-di pushchair lock and locked it up every single time we left it, despite some odd looks from people!

If you're flying I'd take a cheaper one personally - we've had experience of the baggage handling company breaking one of mine on a summer holiday unfortunately :(

Thank you all for the replies ladies! i will invest in a cheaper one thats for sure!

My kids are big now , 8-9yrs . But when they were little we had a phil+teds (which I took to disney numerous time). Also when both were babies we both them a mclaren stroller each for times when I would only have 1child with me. I highly recommend investing in a good stroller esp if you intend travelling alot with them. The cheap strollers are rubbish ive used them briefly with my friends kids. The handles dont hav proper padding like good strollers you will end up getting blister esp in disney where you have alot of walking/pushing!!!

if you have a good buggy invest in the travel bag we got the p+t one think it was €80 at the time its brilliant it survived numerous flight including to australia and back. We never useda bike lock but if your that worried buy a cheap lock.
