Stroller for at least 50 lbs. plus?

My DD just turned 3 on X-mas and she is 42 inches tall and 38 lbs. She's a tall girl! I'd still like to have a stroller to use for another year or so. We can't put her in her Graco stroller anymore because the weight is 35 max for that one. We have a jogger that holds up to 50 lbs., but after using it yesterday at the mall, it's a little clumsy to use.

Anyone have any good suggestions for a nice stroller that holds at least 50 lbs? I looked online and see that Safety Lite makes a nice looking one for around $150.

Go with the Maclaren Volo! It is an umbrella stroller that works like a dream at disney! We recently purchased one for our trip last Sept and loved it! My daughter is 4 weighs 38 lbs and is 41 inches and it worked perfectly. The nice thing about the Volo is that it is for up to 55 lbs. Take your child to Babies r Us and try it out. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Not knowing what type of stroller you are looking for but for our upcoming trip I just purchases a First years Jet lightweight. It's an umbrella type for $39 but it holds 50 lbs and seems to have some nice baskets and even a parent tray. My dd is just turning 4 and is about the same size ( 41 inches and 38 lbs) Will have to wait and see if it works out!

I'm pg with my 2nd and will be getting the baby jogger city elite for this baby (weight limit up to 75 lbs). DS was in the graco metrolite...which was an awesome stroller. Fortunately, he's not even 40lbs yet and he'll be 5 in May so that stroller worked for him throughout his stroller years. We're still bringing it with us to WDW in April because I don't care if it gets ruined...I want something for him to sit in should he get tired. We're traveling with a huge group (incl. other kids) and I know he won't want to leave, even if he gets tired.

It's not a jogging stroller...just made by baby jogger. The city mini is the one that .Orlando Stroller Rentals rents out and is cheaper than the city elite. It has a lower weight limit than 75 lbs, but I think it goes up to 50. You can check it out at the Orlando Stroller Rentals website. They appear to be very easy to fold up, with a strap in the seat that you pull, so it's totally one handed.

I believe the two that the pp's mentioned are definitely cheaper...and are often recommended here. Those are probably better suggestions. Specifically if you won't be needing a stroller after DD outgrows it.

thanks! I stumbled across this post. I need a stroller for my almost 4 year old. He has issues with tightness in his ankles and calves plus he gets tired easily from walking too much. I am trying to find something to take on our next trip because he is getting too heavy to carry!

We have loved our Maclaren Volo for our older child (she's 4 now). It is so easy to wheel at Disney - we never had trouble crossing the trolley tracks or going over bumps. Now that we have a baby, we invested in a Baby Jogger Citi Mini Double almost specifically for Disney b/c the Volo doesn't recline and DD still will need to sit somewhere. If you're going to be using Disney transportation, look for something easy to carry (the Volo has a shoulder strap). Check around online - albeebaby.com and diapers.com have some great sales, even Amazon, or if BRU will let you use the 20% off coupons for Maclaren (I forget).

We got the Maclaren Quest, they can be a little pricey but they will hold up to 65+ pounds, so you will be using it for a little while. I was able to find ours new for half price on Ebay

we used to have a mcalren volo & loved loved loved it def worth the $. i hated parting with mine, i think that's why i kept it for so long but, my DS is 7 & we didnt use it or need it anymore.

I think my graco is 40lbs too...we're bringing it with us definitely. But, its so banged up and had such good use that I won't be using it for the new baby. Probably why I don't mind if DS does go over 40lbs...he'll still be comfy enough.

We have the BabyPlanet endangered species stroller. It has a big basket, a full sun hood, and it can recline all the way back. One thing that sold me was that the hood could come all the way down and turn the stroller into a cave - a plus for a child who gets overwhelmed. It goes up to 50 lbs.

We did Disney over Halloween for 4 nights and it was our first trip. My daughter was 3 1/2 and 47" tall and 46lbs and had long grown out of all of our strollers.

I shopped around and was also looking to spend the money to get a stroller bog enough for her, small enough to travel, and good enough to do Disney.

The best thing we ever did was rent from MAGICSTROLLERS.COM! It cost $33 for the 4 days, they gave us a rain cover and cup holder for free (you just have to request them when you order).

We arrived at CS and the stroller was there. We used it to death for 4 days and then dropped it back to the Bell Services window at the hotel when we left. It folds up nice, it lays down well enough for a tired out almost 4 year old!

The other great thing that happened to work wonderfully for us by accident, was buying the $8 mylar balloon on the first day and it helped us idnetify our stroller for all 4 days very easily! You just cannot have a balloon when you go to AK.

Another vote for MCLaren volo, We had one we used over 2 trips for DD, at just turned 5 and just turned 6. She was never over the wieght limit, it was easy to piush, and a good height. We didn't need it this year so it passed to our niece.

I purchased 2 of these strollers for my munchkins for our trip last year 6/10. My DS was 5y and 53 lbs and it worked just fine. Planning on taking them with us again this year in oct 2011. You can order them on Diapers.com and usually get shipping discounts. Good luck finding what you need.

Also want to add, this stroller folds up like an umbrella stoller and is alot wider that an umbrella stoller. Also my DS was at 49 + inches tall at our visit as well.

We bought a Kid Karoo off of Amazon. It's an umbrella stroller that is amazingly sturdy. We use it locally at Busch Gardens, and it takes a lot of abuse.

We purchased a Maclaren Volo prior to our Disney trip. It was mostly for one of my 5 year olds who whines alot.

She used it about 80% of the time but both of her sisters (twin 45" and 47lbs and 7yr old 50" and 60ish lbs) hopped into it from time to time.

It held up, easy to fold and carry and it has a nice size basket on it too.

It holds up to 75 pds and is under 200 dollars.The seat is higher than most strollers so it is easier to get kids in and out and at Disney we wheeled it up to the tables like a chair-also more room for long legs.It folds up like an umbrella,steers great and does not tip over easily when you hang alot of stuff off it.They sell them at babies r us.I spent alot of time trying to find one I like-with my dd I had 5 strollers and I didn't want to have to keep buying ones for my ds.We had the big one when he was born to put the car seat in but after that I got the Aprica to take to disney when he was 8 months and it is all I use now.The canopy is pretty good too and the material is easy to clean and it is cushy(I didn't think the maclarens seemed that comfy)My dd(9) sat in it a few times too and I could steer it with no problem.They were a company that was from Japan but was bought by Graco a few years ago but I had a Graco stroller and the quality is much better.
