String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

I am proud of you for 2 reasons.

#1) you let that director have it! Yea for you! Give it to her and don't forget to write those letters. That is absolutely appaling that she would allow a child to be in an ambulance alone.

#2) You took the day off, made Won get up, and have plans to rest all day. You really need to let yourself do this. You keep getting sick because you are not letting yourself get all the way back to 100%.

Keep fighting the good fight girl!

~Amanda

I can't believe that a phone call would take priority over the well-being of a child. :earseek: I would definitely deliver those letters! Good for you, Beth!

I'm sorry that you are still not feeling well.:( It's good that you called off tonight and had Won take Katie to school so that you can get some extra rest. Please take good care of you.

Hi, I'm back.

Today was very restful. I slept for 2 hours while Katie was in school. Picked Katie up and played for 3 hours. My parents came a got the munchkin, and I went to back to bed for 3 hours. Headed to Costco then went to ZOUP. It is a new restaurant that serves 12 homemade soups a day. They also have panini sandwiches and salads. They have over 30 soups that they rotate. It is awesome. I got a bowl of chicken noodle (10 carbs) and a 10 carb hunk of french bread. It was lovely. I have emailed headquarters to find out which soups are ok for Katie. She adores soup, and this place is 1/2 mile away. I have also finished my letters. I will mail the ones to the Board tomorrow and deliver the one to the dean Monday. I did CC Lizzy, so she will know where I stand.

Won is at his work's annual party. I have an eveining to myself. After I finish journals, I will start my new book and just veg.

Meals for the day..
B: scrambled eggs and tea.
L: 2 ham/swiss rolls and 1/2 grapefruit.
D- soup and bread.
D: strawberries and whipped cream. (If I feel the need.)

I am going to bed early. Won will be clearing the driveway tomorrow. I will play the sick card, if I need to. I am evil, I admit it. We are expecting a foot of snow and winchills in the negative teens. Not my type of weather.

Have a good one,
Beth

Hi Beth! I'm a newbie to the journal board but wanted to thank you for visiting mine :) I'm enjoying catching up on everyone's journals and seeing all their successes!! You are so close to Onderland - How EXCITING! :) You are doing great and I hope you are feeling much better. ::yes:: Enjoy your night of relaxing :)

 Beth
I am slowly catching up on the boards and I am SO sorry to read about poor Katie. I agree with you and the others, and I am glad you are sending those letters.
Please stay warm tomorrow and enjoy your relaxing day. No snow clearing for you! I say definitely play the Sick card. ::yes::

What book are you reading? I really need to get to the library and get some new reading material.

play the sick card!!!!!! i never have to shovel (but i also have a 18 year old brother ) ive had neck surgeries, so my mom tells him it hurts my neck!

 Hiya Beth,
Sorry I've been gone for so long. I'm also so sorry to hear about Katie getting hurt at the school. I really really hate playground situations because it doesn't seem like there is ever adequate supervision in that kind of a setting. I'm glad you are pursuing the matter with the ambulance ride also. What were they thinking?

I don't blame you for using that sick card tomorrow. We have a similar situation weather wise here and I plan to stay inside and let DH handle it as well. I don't mind snow so much but the bitter cold is not my cup of tea.

Take care, stay warm, and feel better :flower1: .

Hi Beth!

I hope that your weekend is going well and that you are starting to feel better. Thanks for your PM! I really appreciate it!

Have a great week!

Hi All,

Ok, I am sleep deprived and high on caffiene, so bear with me. I will probably ramble and have a ton of typos. Apologizing in advance.

After my day of rest on Friday, I felt much better, so I decided to go into work. I napped on Saturday after cleaning the house that morning. I actually got a ton accomplished Saturday. Work was ok. I was able to eviscerate a md. He was our moonlighter, and totally incompetent. He is a researcher and has no business practicing hands on medicine. I ended up calling the director of the CCU, and ratted on him because we needed a MD who could do the job. Dr Riba, the director, ended up coming in himself. He wasn't happy about it, but oh well. He is ultimately responsible, and the guy was incompetent. I Slept well Sunday, and work last night was crazy busy. I was in charge, and had to call in security because a family was out of control. We ended up closing down the unit with security at each door.

This morning, I needed to get my blood drawn for my doctor's appointment next week. I was stuck in traffic. After the blood work, I was starving and lightheaded. I went tyo a coney island for breakfast. I had eggs, sausage, and 2 slices of whole wheat toast and a Starbucks venti cappacino. I am wired to the point my hands are shaking.

In ten minutes I need to go pick Katie up friom school. I will feed her, then we are going to the Y. She can play, and I am doing some cardio. I am downing the water. Eventually the caffiene will wear off, and I will crash. Won is bringing dinner. I will tell him not to wake me, if I am sleeping. Hopefully,I'll sleep until morning.

I will try to get to journals today. It may take me a couple of days to make the rounds.

Have a great day,
Beth

Beth, it sounds like you had one crazy weekend at work and you've already been going full speed ahead this morning too! :faint:

I hope you and Katie enjoy your time at the Y and that you are able to get a ton of sleep when you get home. :sunny:

Ok, so I decided not to drive after lunch, so I did the 2 mile WATP. I feel lazy about it, but oh well. I also made a stop at the vegetable market and health food store this morning. I will only need to go to Mejer tomorrow.
Off to shower. (At last)
Beth

yeah, I opted for the 2 mile WATP the other day and felt a little guilty too. :guilty: But, on the other hand, 2 miles is better than none! Especially after a long busy shift! So props to you Beth! :cool1:

I hope you get plenty of rest tonight and are feeling better tomorrow. Then you can get back into your routine and down to the business of moving that scale! :Pinkbounc

TTFN- Sharon :sunny:

Beth:

Working graveyard is like flying to Tokyo and back - no wonder you're shakey...I know that my caffeine habit is due in large part to my swing shift. (I'm a night owl anyway but having to be "up" for the last part of my shift keeps me lit until after midnight!)

I'm proud of you for doing a tape at home and getting in some excercise - much better than what I'm doing - a big nothing!

Here's to a peaceful week!

-Laurie

Hi Beth,

Good for you that you did any exercise at all. That really is amazing. Hope you are feeling better. I love working with charge nurses like you that stand up for what is right no matter who the offender is. Kudos to you for doing the right thing! Have a great day. Get some rest. :flower1:

Hi Beth--Thanks for your posts on my journal thread. It sounds like you have a very stressful job. I would be eating myself silly if I had to deal with that. I'm impressed you were able to do any exercise at all. Hope you have a better day today!

Hey - don't feel guilty about WATPing instead of going to the Y. It is still exercise (and besides, you will make me feel bad... ;) ) and it counts!

I hope you are sleeping well so you will be refreshed and ready for the new day. Tell us more about ZOUP. It sounds like a great restaurant! Did you enjoy it? Panera Bread is probably the best 'soup' restaurant around here.
