String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

Hi, Beth. Just stopping by to say  and to offer up some :sunny: , :goodvibes , and :wizard: for your day. Please be good to yourself, OK?

Erin

Hi there,

I am somewhat lucid today. I managed to stay awake until 445. At that point, I called Won, and told him to bring dinner for Katie and himself. I laid down on the couch and died. I slep through Toy Story 2 dinner and tucky time. At 8pm, my mom called. My dad had hit a deer and was headed to the hospital. All she knew was that he was unconsciuos. She was going to call me as soon as she knew more, and I wasn't supposed to come yet. They live 2 hours away. I am glad to say that Df is just finr. he has a concussion and a broken nose from the airbag. He is being released this morning. I talked to him on the phone this AM. He is adamant that I not come. I am seeing them on Saturday, so I can agree to this.
Combine exhaustion, stress, skipping dinner and you have the making for a great binge. I ate a pint of B&J's lc ice cream. Won had a secret stash for me. He hid it inside of a tupperware container, so it was emergency only ice cream. He knows me well.

I am disappointed in myself, but realiastic. I have been an emotional/stress eater for 33 years. It isn't going to change overnight. The key is to be totally OP today.

Plan for the day...
Dance class followed by grocery shopping.
We'll head to the Y for weights and cardio.
Pick up the living areas of the house.
Make dinner.
Early bedtime.

Meal plan...
B: lc toast with peanut butter and tea.
L: salad and water.
D: chicken parmasan, super yummy, broccoli and salad. I may have some dreamfield's pasta. I will make it for Won and Kate. I'll see how I feel.
D: Strawberries with whipped cream.

Terry, Zoup is a chain in MI. It is expanding, and I am sure it will go nation wide. They makwe 12 soups daily. They have over 30 different soups they rotate. you can even sign up for the menu to be emailed daily. All ingredients are fresh and they have some really unusual soups. They also do panini sandwiches and salads. Cookies, smoothies, and rice pudding for dessert. A new one just open a mile from our house, and I've been 2x in the last week.

Gosh, Beth, do you ever catch a break????!!!! You have more stress in your life than anyone I know. I think that, given everything you have to deal with, you have done amazingly well this year. You just keep climbing back onto the wagon, plugging along. WTG!!! :cheer2:

I hope that today proves better for you. Looks like you have a good plan. Stick with it and you'll be fine!!

Sending :wizard: and :goodvibes for a wonderful Tuesday!

TTFN- Sharon :sunny:

ITA With Sharon! You need a break! LOL! I'm glad you got some rest but I am sorry to hear about your poor Dad! I did crack up about the emergency stash of Ice Cream...I should try that ;)

Enjoy the day, focus on the positives, and let go of yesterday. Back to Basics today - water, exercise, food.

~Amanda

I'm glad to hear that your Dad is being released today. I wish him a speedy recovery. How did the car fare? In PA, we have lots of "hit deer" accidents - I think the body shops feed the deer so they stay in business.

You have done very well with your food and exercise! Kudos to Won for knowing how to hide an emergency stash and for making it LC too! He has just earned some brownie points in my book! You have nothing to feel guilty about - a pint of LC B&J is way better than a half gallon of regular Breyers!

ZOUP sounds wonderful!! Sure wish I had one close to me! I'd be tempted to buy some soup in carry-out containers and freeze it for those nights when I need something quick & easy!

Keep resting when you can. The weekend will be here again before you know it. Hope your day is filled with smiles from Katie!

Good morning Beth!

I am so sorry to hear about your father's car accident, but thank God he is doing okay! I hope he has a quick recovery!

I wouldn't worry too much about the B & J's ice cream from last night. I think I remember reading somewhere that an emergency stash of ice cream in a tupperware container hidden by a DH has absolutely zero calories in the entire pint! So, you'll be just fine, Beth! :teeth:

Beth, thank you so much for your post in my journal. My DH and I have a lot of difficult decisions to make in the weeks ahead, but it makes it easier knowing that people care. Thank you, Beth! :grouphug:

Have a great Tuesday!

Oh my goodness!! It feels like things just won't stop. I am SO happy to hear your dad is okay! Totalling a car and suffering from very serious injury because of hitting a deer was very common in TN. Sending up thanks for his safe delivery.

Okay - I know my dh doesn't have a stash of ice cream for me. How did you get Won to start doing that? That's one smart guy! Do tell.... what flavor was it? :teeth:

Beth,

:moped: Here's hoping your energy returns. Your poor dad. What a terrible accident. I hope he is feeling better.

I am such an emotional eater, I can totally relate! I've heard it said, B&Js is really more of a medicinal product :teeth:

Take care, get rest and try to have a boring day!!!

Sundie

Hi Beth,

Just rechecking in with you this evening. How is your dad doing? Thank God he is ok. I have to agree, don't worry about the B&J icecream. Won earned some major points by having that stashed for you! ;) I hope you are resting somewhat today. You sounded like you had a busy day ahead. Take care my friend.

I am not the smartest person around.

I have been OP all day. No coffee even! Water is at 3.5 liters.

I am stupid because I totally overdid it at the Y. I haven't been lifting weights since I got ill. 2 months. I did lift one day last week. I set all weights 10 pounds below where I had Been lifting. Well, that was no effort, so today I went back to my original weights. I did 3 circuits and 30 minutes on the glider. I didn't strain or anything, but I am already feeling it. I will barely be able to move tomorrow. I will take mottrin and a hot shower before bed.
Have a great night,
Beth

Oh dear. Beth, girl, you are going to be hurting tomorrow! Don't forget that motrin and stretch, stretch, stretch tomorrow. I hope the soreness doesn't last too long.

beth--hope you arent too sore this morning!! hope you took a nice hot bath--
im sorry about all the stress beth--im sure it is driving you crazy
i love the hidden ice cream--my mom did that to me the other day--and when i wasnt feeling well, she b rought it out haha
dont over do it again! :) im glad your father is okay, must have been scary---
have a good day today beth!!!!

Beth, I hope you aren't too sore today. Drink lots of water to flush that lactic acid out of those muscles. Stretch often and don't sit in one place too long - don't want to aggravate that stiffness. Massage the muscles you can reach to increase blood flow. OK, I guess those are enough words of wisdom - Mom-mode off now. :teeth:

Have a happy, carefree day! :sunny:

Thanks guys. I am not as sore as expected this AM. Just enough to remind me not to overdo it on Thursday. The shower really helped.

I talked to my dad this morning. He is fine, but going a bit stir crazy without the car.

Todays plan...
Going to the Y after I drop off Katie. Cardio today. I did 45 minutes on the glider. (680 calories.)
Start the laundry.
Clean Katie's room.

Meal Plan...
B: Tea and toast.
L: Salad
S: 1/2 grapefruit.
D: Rosemary garlic chicken, cauliflower, and salad.
S: SF Jello.

I may need to throw a coffee into the mix, I'm tired today.

I'll get to as many journals today that I can.

Have a good one,
Beth

Well, I'm off to bed. I ended up snacking on celery and peanut butter tonight. Other than that, things were ok today.

I'll be back in the AM

Glad you had a better day today.

Sorry you over-did yesterday. That is SO easy to do when you've been out for a while. It is just so tempting to go back to where you were even though the body isn't quite up to it yet.

It osunds like you did pretty good on your plan today. Celery and peanut butter isn't much of a cheat and you probably needed the calories.

Hope you have a good day tomorrow!

Rebecca

:wave2: Good morning, Beth. I'm just stopping by to say hello and to wish you a good Thursday. I'm sending :goodvibes and :wizard: your way.

Love,
Erin

Peanut Butter and celery sounds pretty healthy to me, especially when I look at what you were eating the rest of the day and how much you're exercising. Keep up the good work, and I hope your soreness goes away.
