My sil called last night and was telling me how my niece (2 years old) got into the fridge and was drinking a bottle of maple syrup

DD# 1 never ate anything weird
but DD#1 ate a light bulb (the little night light kind )

my cousin swallowed a tarantula (the spider) when he was about 2 :earseek:
and my nephew ate desitin ( the diaper rash cream)

and my brother eats worm altough I am not sure he counts as he is 30 years old :rotfl:

my family can't be the only one

what weird thing has your child eaten??

As a kid I ate a metal marble. Not too strange but my 11yo sister can eat any curry, no matter how spicey it is...I find that a bit strange for a kid

My nephew used to drink regular saline solution for contacts. My SIL was constantly running low on the stuff and couldn't figure out why.

Karis-almost 3, loves to eat Lotion. My almost 5 yr old dd is caught eating Playdough on a regular basis, strange kids!

My son swallowed one of those decorative rocks you put in flower arrangements. His cousin had given it to him as a "gift". The real gift was for me, an emergency room bill.

My sister had her gaddaughter at our family breakfast a few weeks ago. She is almost 3. My 10 yr old dd was watching her. DD had to get my sister because the little girl had found stirophone (sp?) and was eating it.

My DD used to suck the juice out of baby wipes. She also ate a bite of raw asparagus when she was about 2. We told her she wouldn't like it, she took a bite anyway, made an awful face, and we told her, see? So she stubbornly swallowed the mouthful and told us, YUM!

My niece once ate Icy Hot when she was little, thinking it was a creamy mint candy.

And when I was little, I had a little purse that was completely covered with tiny beads. I ate a couple of beads off that purse every day until it was naked!

I've had to call poison control three times when my son was young. He ate some potpourri, the kind that has big chips of wood and large flowers in it. Then, he ate vermiculite out of the bottom of our fireplace. Not too long after that he was using a mosquito repellent stick as a chapstick. This was all while he was still crawling. I watched him like a hawk, but he STILL got into trouble. I have never had to call poison control with either of my daughters.

He also used to crawl all over the house picking up pieces of fuzz off the carpet and eating them come to think of it.

My older brother ate his boogers when he was a kid. And nope, I don't feel bad about telling the world about it. He's a knucklehead.

Immediately I think of my son, when he was 5, he ate my birth control pills, they were the pop out of the foil kind, he got over 7 of them. I freaked thinking... OH NO he cant have kids now LOL! I called poision control and after the lady laughed and assured me he WILL be able to have kids.... she told me he would throw up at some point and be just fine. The next day... he did and all was ok. :rotfl: now, wasn't then tho :rotfl:

My brother once ate a superball. I have no idea why. And he would purposely say bad words so my mom would make him eat soap. Yes, he liked soap.

My DBF used to eat deodorant. To me that is absolutely disgusting!

When I was little my favorite thing to do was to eat cigarette butts off the ground

Once my dad caught me eating a worm in the back garden. Turned out the "big boys" had said I could only play with them if I ate a worm - so I did. :rotfl2:

I also used to eat the glue we used in kindergarten. Absolutely loved the stuff, it came in a green container and had a red spatula to spread the glue with... :goodvibes

Oh, just remembered another one - does anyone remember a cough mixture called Expigen? I just couldn't get enough of the stuff and actually used my own pocket money to sneakily buy the stuff; I kept it under my bed! :earseek: Luckily it contained mostly sugar anyway (which is probably why I liked it... ) so I wasn't doing myself any harm... :rotfl2:
