Strangest or yuckiest thing your kid got in their TOT bag?

My DD didn't get anything wierd, just lots of candy.

But, I was picking her up from her dance studio right before trick or treating, and was talking to the dance teacher. She said a friend of hers, who is a salesman for Campbell's Soups, was going to give out cans of soup.

She and I agreed he'd probably find his yard littered with cans the next morning.

RADISHES?

Where in the heck do you live? LOL!!!

All my kids got was candy!!!
Kinda like...all I got was a rock!

We live at the end of a cul-de-sac and only saw 10 kids!
We were giving out good stuff too! Hersheys, M&M's, etc.

Lisajl:)

This thread is great.

One year we invited a friend new in town from Taiwan to help us carve pumpkins with our kids, toddlers at the time. When we finished he asked if we carved pumpkins for all the holidays! LOL.

We brought my brother to Eckerd's during TOT ending up leaving with a free picture with Scooby Doo, a bag filled with all sorts of candy and a free child identification kit. As for regular houses, the strangest thing he got was an orange plastic straw with a pumpkin at the top.

No weird stuff here-just a huge load of candy.
IMHO if one doesn't like the non-Christian bent
of Halloween, leave your light off and don't
answer the door. Kids in our city know not to
knock on doors with the porch light off. Also-
f.y.i., Halloween is directly followed by "All Saints
Day" which IS a Christian celebration and in
some way either is a result of the pagan Halloween
or the other way around. Growing up in my house,
we celebrated both and Mom would not let us
dress up as pagan things like monsters or mythical
characters. We did lots of cowboys and homeless
folks(hobos to us). We never carved our pumpkins-
pagan-and we had the religious discussion every year.

My last boyfriend was Taiwanese and came to the U.S. with his grandparents when he was 4. On his first Halloween, the kids at his school were all dressed up and he had no idea what was going on. He was scared and started crying and had to be sent home! Even worse, it was his birthday. He's not really into halloween now. lol

Oh, and to keep with the original thread subject, I was surprised to see how long it took for toothbrushes and toothpaste to come up. There were tons of dentists in our neighborhood, so we got several sets. Also, spider rings or any kind of little toy was always the biggest treat in the bag! We would have been thrilled with ghost poop!

The strangest things DS got were unwrapped candy, like gummy worms and these strange looking fruit things that looked about 10 years old. We swept through the loot and tossed anything that wasn't wrapped. In this day and age I am surprised people would give out unwrapped candy.
