Strangest or yuckiest thing your kid got in their TOT bag?

Nothing weird here this year, but I remember one year someone was actually handing out rocks with pumpkin faces painted on them:rolleyes:

In years past they have received toothbrushes.

I had to crack up at the baggies filled with "ghost poop".

OMG, these are too hysterical! All we got was candy, candy, and more candy! In fact, I can't remember them ever getting anything but candy except for a few years ago when my neighbor gave out those miniature play-doughs that I thought was kind of neat! I guess we just live in a boring neighborhood!

My DS got a couple things this year that are out of the ordinary.
2-3 lunch size bags of chips/cracker/doritos
a few pencils
spider rings and necklace

The best was a small package of halloween microwave popcorn.

Next year I'm gonna give out those little toothpaste samples and toothbrushes. After all that candy, they all need new toothbrushes. And its also a simple reminder to brush that night before passing out from a sugar high.

Poohbear123, I don't mean to pick on you - but I had stong opinions about your post! I don't give out religious tracts, but I find it really hard to believe people are that offended as to accuse people of shoving their religion on them. When you go to someone's home - they are free to give you whatever they want. I'd much rather have that than to have them coming to my home -THAT I consider an invasion. If you don't want it - throw it away.

My kids would be thrilled with a handful of pennies. They would actually like the toothbrushes and little toothpaste samples too. My kids must be weird!

My son was disapointed that the Dentists office was closed last night ..he wanted a new tooth brush! Really! I tried to be funny and sugessted that he try for floss next year. He thought that was a cool idea...then I found out he likes to use it to tie things up with. The cheapest thing he got was the library. They had advertised that they wwould be open late to hand out treats. Costumed librarians and everything. What he got was a cheap mass produced book mark that they have on the counter for free every day.

Great thread everyone! No kids so no stories, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread! Thanks for the chuckle!

Holly

I was too tired last night to check my son's candy so I put it up on a high shelf and am just heading upstairs to do it. I just hope I don't find any ghost poop or bran flakes!

TOO funny...we don't have kids, so I wasn't aware of the "stuff" being given for TOT.

I do remember someone living in Marshall Mathers' neighborhood (he has a home nearby) telling me his house passed out Eminem CD's for halloween last year....I'm sure some parents were thrilled ;)

Denise < --- will stick to givin' chocolate bars, even tho the idea of getting rid of old magazines and junk mail coupons IS tempting ;)

In some situations, I suspect the people might have run out of candy and were giving whatever they could think of to give. Once, when I was trick or treat age, we got Pop Tarts. The man explained he was out of candy, but didn't want us to leave empty handed so he was going through his cupboards. LOL

The girls got nothing really weird this year..... but they did get a couple of ziplock baggies with both candy and business cards..... :/

I remember as a child there was the cookie house.... a little old lady spent all of halloween baking freash cookies... right out of the oven..... they were soooo good..... She lived right next door to the paper guy... he owned a paper mill and would hand out large doodle paper...... We hit both houses a couple of times each halloween!(in different costumes of course)

OMG! I'm rollin here! Between the Ghost Poop & The Bran Flakes...

Max hid his candy last night, so I haven't seen anything yet...

A couple years ago, we went to this house that was decked to the gils - looked like these folks were really into Halloween - Instead of candy, they handed out religious tracts telling kids not to celebrate Halloween  Talk about tacky & insulting!

WVjules,
When I was a kid I also got toothpaste and a toothbrush one year, I thought it was pretty cool:jester:

My 4 yr. old granddaughter received a can of Pepsi - and a bag of radishes...................

My Mom gives out MONEY.. Dang - I knew I should have gone over there last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nothing funny in my kids bags but when i was little i went to a house handing out handfuls of change ( not just pennies , i got like $3.00) and one year my little sister got sucrets - old ones not in a box just 2 or 3 wrapped in the paper.. Hee Hee I loved reading these.. Michelle

disykat, I kinda disagree with you. Not that I'm turning this into a debate or anything. But Halloween isn't a Christian holiday so if they feel the need to hand out stuff telling children that they shouldn't celebrate Halloween then they should just leave their porch light off.

Same thing when you run out of candy. Whenever I run out of candy I always make sure I turn off my porch light so no more ToTers come by. We went to some houses last night that had the porch light on but no one answered. Just turn your light off some people don't come by...its not hard.

Also in addition to the toothbrushes and toothpaste we have gotten floss...not this year but we have in the past. At least it goes along with the whole dental hygene which is very much needed on Halloween night.
