Strange Easter happening

So I'm a little behind with dying eggs.

I hard-boiled 6 eggs this morning, to correspond with the 6 colors of dye that I have. One egg cracks really bad. I dump them all into an ice water bath to cool quickly. While I'm waiting for the eggs to cool, I prepare 5 of the 6 colors -- not wanting to dye the cracked egg -- discarding the orange cup because that's my least favorite of the colors.

I place each of the 5 eggs into the dyes and go to pull out the 6th egg to eat it since it's cracked, but wait -- it's not cracked. So what do I do? I pull out each egg in the cups...none of them are cracked.

Is it an Easter miracle? Or did the ice water fix it? :confused3

clearly tink was there to make sure you would have a backup of your fave. color!

happy easter everybody!

Did you sniff the dye :confused3 :teeth:

No, but I'm wishing I had!

Seriously...could the ice water have done it? The egg was cracked to the point where the egg was smushing out of it.

if the egg was smushing out, I don't think the ice water could've fixed that. It could've made a TINY crack smaller, almost to teh point where you couldn't see it(things shrink when they get cold) but if the egg smushed out, there really isn't any fixing that, short of removing the smushed out part of the egg. :confused3

(are you sure you didn't sniff the dye? ;) )

I'm positive there was no dye-sniffing going on. I guess I'll just chalk it up to a weird experience.

I know! I know! Let's ask the dudes from Mythbusters.

OMG we had a similar experiance with our eggs. I think I overcooked them and then it looked like one broke, there were egg "parts" in the pot. So I go to throw it away later and it's just not broken! It was totally perfect. Very weird.

Well, if ice water can restore things, maybe I should bathe in it.

:lmao: Let me know if it works and what ratio of ice to water you use!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with weird eggs this Easter!

And yes, I thought about filling the tub with ice water as well!!

I vote for Easter Miracle. :thumbsup2

I have a feeling when you peel one of those eggs, one may have a bit of dye on the inside.
