Does anyone know how busy Storm Along Bay is at the end of Oct / beginning of November?

It is still quite warm and with the resort booked b/c of Food and Wine fest the pool stays pretty busy.

If its Hot and HUMID the pool is busy..One of the big appeals of those resorts is SAB, so naturally it tends to stay pretty busy unless it is too cold to swim

Can anyone tell me how it is Beg/mid Dec? We were there over Memorial day week and it was packed!
Sorry for hi-jacking your thread OP!

The only time we see this pool not very busy is when we are staying there in January/February. This is a large pool, but shared by 3 resorts (BC, BCV, YC).

So late Nov/early Dec is still nice enough to swim?
I'm looking for generalities, of course. I realize no one can predict the weather.
We booked a BB offer at BC for 11-28 thru 12-3, 2010. Just wondering what to expect.
Thanks!

That all depends on how cold it is outside. Pools are open unless the whether is bad ie:lighting but if its just "cold" they stay open. So if you don't mind getting out and freezing (should it be cold outside) then by all means swim! I'm a born Floridian and last late Nov/early Dec we had whether ranging from 40s to 70's day to day. Plus factor in the rain made it seem colder.

We were there before, during and after Memorial Day weekend 2010 and did not find Stormalong Bay to be busy at all. We spent a lot of time at the pool too. Here is what we saw daily...

Sinking Sands
Kids Pool
Lazy River
Sand Bar

I would say we found the MK and DHS (Star Wars) to be very busy with Summer being the higher demand time for Stormalong Bay.

In general: you can swim anyday, but it may be cold. As you reference no one can predict the weather as pools may be rather brisk on some evenings. Peak day time when temperatures peak will be more accommodating, but realize there could be some evening where you may want to wear a sweatshirt (temperature combined with wind) or there may be a even evening where you experience a cool rain falling which normally, in our experience, thins out the crowds in the parks. Few guest are in the pools on these evenings. Other days and evenings are fine for a swim. If you are flexible and adapt your plans to the weather you will be fine.

We were there Dec 12-19th last year, we had 80 degrees at the beginning of the trip and there were plenty of people at the pool, but it wasn't as busy as our Sept trip.I think people traveling in Dec might think they can't swim and not bring swimsuits etc.

Thanks, hoping it will not be to busy, that most will be enjoying F&W and not at the pool. We are going to be a large party and it is hard to find seats together.

if you go in the morning, you'll be fine. If you wait until mid day, you'll probably be out of luck.

as to the question of swimming in the winter... the only time we didn't get in the pool was during a January trip. It was pretty chilly for Florida and was in the 40s. The day we left, it was back in the 70s and we would have definitely hopped in the pool if we had time.
