This isn't a happy, relaxing, or something you can kick back at type of thread. This needs to stop and I am taking the liberty of posting it as a responsible member of these forums.

Please. Stop the arguing and flaming now. Not only is it against the DIS guidelines, but it is embarassing to me to think that these threads are giving new visitors a bad impression of the DIS, which is totally uncalled for. The arguing is out of hand, along with the flaming which is a big no-no.

Why can't we just discuss problems in an adult-like, civilized manner instead of going on rampages and flaming? It really makes no sense.

Please, I am asking you to try and stop arguing and flaming one another. ESPECIALLY for the adults, it shows a lack of maturity and gives new visitors a bad first impression.

Mal, Lori, Riku, and Brain: I applaud you for what you are doing to try and stop these threads. You are doing your job and you are doing it great. :goodvibes

Thank you and as responsible board members when you see a thread or a post that is out of hand please use the report post option and report it....it also helps sometimes to drop one if not all of us a PM to let us know in addition to reporting it.

Also contrary to popular beleif, while true we do live in America and have freedom of speech, this is a privately owned forums and you must adhere to the Rules and Guidelines set forth.

Thank you

:thumbsup2

I don't exactly post on the VMK boards much, but I can't help but notice threads like the ones described (not pointing any fingers). I can't help but think we need a "Vent Board", with all of the vents. No offense to anyone.

Very well said. I think that it's a good thing for everyone to see. I think we should have a vents board for the people that want to vent well, their you go and for the people that don't want to read about it then just don't click their :) :goodvibes

I've seen others mention things about a vents board, but I will leave it up to the Moderators to decide what to do about this. I am not sure if it would be a good or bad thing.

I will PM Mal or Lori now. :)

Who would read a vent board though?

people who want to feel mature and nice (but they really aren't) would read that board milkabum.

Members are more than welcome to vent on the VMK CB or the VMK main board as long as they keep their vent free of personal attacks and they remain civil conversations.

A vent board is not something we are considering at this time as far as I know.

I know you are probably thinking "why did this idiot bump up this thread again?!". Well, here's why.

The backseat moderating needs to stop too, while we are at it. If someone posts something that's already been said, its no big deal. I haven't come across too many people on this boards (or anywhere for that matter) that purposely create duplicate threads for the sake of inflicting harm or hurt feelings on another fellow member. There is no need to say "already posted here (link)" or "this has already been posted" or "posted down the page" because it only makes for a tense relationship with the member it was directed at. I do believe that the moderators weren't hired by WebmasterPete for decoration (we all know they are pretty, though! :rotfl: ), but rather to moderate the forums and take care of duplicate, spammy, or bad posts.

No. A duplicate thread is not spammy, or bad. Why you ask? Because it wasn't intentional in most cases.

Anyone who backseat moderates needs to realize that THEY ARE NOT A MODERATOR. So stop. Do you really need that extra post in your post count?

Bottom line: It hurts people's feelings and makes them mad. So stop. Do you really want to be a person who does those types of things to others?

I know, it was long. I'm done now. :)
