If you are talking about the unlimited express that comes with staying at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portofino- it’s from check in day to check out day. Your room key is your express pass, you want to stop at the hotel and check in before heading to the parks.

You can use EE as long as you have a valid Epic park ticket.

They will check your room card at the entrance. The room card shows your name, the name of your hotel, as well as your check in and check out dates. You can use EE any day during your stay as long as you have a park ticket for that day.

Hotel early entry covers both the day you check in and the day you check out. So you'd be eligible two days of early entry for a one night stay.

If you're just doing one park day, you can choose whichever works better for your trip schedule.

Book the hotel for the night before (check in day before, check out/store bags in morning, and go to park). No option to go back for a mid day break, obviously.

Or book the night of your park day (go to hotel early, pick up room keys (room probably not ready, but you will get the keys early), store bags, go to park). You have the option go rest in the room mid day, once they text you your room is ready.
