I have been hearing some pretty negative things about this ride and I would just like to know what exactly is wrong with it.:confused3

I don't think it's that bad, but it's certainly not going down in history as one of Disney's best attractions.

I think some people might find it boring because it doesn't move, there's not really anything to see, and the plot isn't the best.

I think that it's worth checking out if there's a very short line. I definately wouldn't wait more than 5-10 minutes for it, though!

It's not really a ride. You don't move in your seats. We thought it was cute and entertaining. It's not the best attraction ever but it certainly isn't the worst either.

Most of the complaints stem from the fact it isn't alien encounter, which it replaced.

A few others stem from the BURRRRRRRRRRP. I will say no more.

It's long, boring, and they pump in the scent of Stitch's chili dog burp. Yuck--what a waste of precious WDW time.

When Stitch "jumps" on your shoulders it hurt my shoulders since they WERE on my shoulders.

And when he burped up his chili dog,it smelled HORRIBLE. lol

I say it's defintey not worth a 30 minute line,more like 5 or 10 minutes. :p

Sorry it hurt your shoulders, but I am so glad to know I am not the only one that thought the jumpin Stitch was uncomfortable. I thought it was just me. :)

I found I that I kept waiting for the attraction to start. The animitronics are very impressive but you spend so much time in the dark you can't enjoy Stitch.

DBf and I are on the other side of the fence. :) I love Stitch's Great Escape! I think it is a very cool attraction unlike any other. I think some may find it a little gross, therefore not like it. And I think some may find it ...boring? Not sure...but we love it ! :)

As with anything else with bad reviews, ride it and decide for yourself. My husband and I always enjoy it.

My ten year old, who is usually a real trooper about everything including pain, whined through the whole show after the shoulder harness thing tightened up. She was so squished, it was really hurting her. I completely understood because I was uncomforable the rest of the time, too. The burp scent is obnoxious! Somehow, it caused a really nasty taste in my mouth!

I agree.

The reason its in the dark is that it is predominantly an AUDIO attraction.

Many guests don't appreciate these (Sounds Dangerous at MGM/DHS is also an audio attraction.)

The audio attractions use a special kind of Stereo sound (called Binaural recording) to create a "living atmosphere" that appears to come from AROUND the guests.

The shoulder piece that comes down during the show contains the headphone speakers that create the sound for the guest.

The whole presentation is very impressive from a technical standpoint, but many guests are so caught up in the "lights are out, I can't see" that they miss the show.

:)

Well said, Robo! :)

While my husband and I *do* also appreciate the audio part of this "attraction", the burp smell made me up-chuck in the back of my mouth. lol It really stuck with me for the rest of the night and that was a pain. :)

But yeah-go on it for yourself and see what you think! It might turn out to be a new favorite ride of yours!

My son loves generally all of the rides, but this one he hates. Its scary, and it stinks!

I haven't experienced it myself so can't give much comment, but my boys - 8 and 5 - were begging to go see it again.

If you want to try it (and we tried it, so we'd know ourselves whether or not we liked it), the secret is that when the harnesses come down you should sit up TALL in your seat and stay that way -- don't let the harness push you down, but rather you push up against it. That way, it "registers" that you are taller in your seat than you are and the fit isn't uncomfortably tight. Note that this does NOT compromise safety in any way, as the attraction does not move and instead the harness (1) has the audio speakers for the effects and (2) itself serves as an "effect," making you think that something big must be coming if you need to be strapped in. We (DH, DS, 8, and I) thought it was worth doing once, but I agree with those who say try it yourself and decide for yourself.

We rode it shortly after it opened and my son would have been 5 or 6. I thought it was very boring b/c it doesn't really do much. My son was pretty scared in it and he is not a scaredy-cat kind of kid. We've skipped it every time we've been there since. My friend's family rode it and they liked it, so def ride it once and see if you like it.... that's what's great about Disney, there is something for everyone!

no that it's 'bad', but IMO Alien Encounter was excellent and they should have never closed that.

DH and I enjoy it. No harness trouble at all. DH is 6'5" so you think if ANYONE would have a problem, it would be him. Maybe we just sit up straight when the harness comes down whereas a child may be squirming??? and it would come a little too low?

I suppose some people have a real smell/scent thing and maybe after years of cat litter box changing and helping family with children, and driving past dead skunks -- I have become immune but I did not find the infamous BURP THAT bad! This is not the first posting on the burp but I really just can't imagine that people get so sick over this! (But since they say they do, I guess they do!)

Anyway, I enjoy this attraction and will not miss it! But to each his own! I'm off to have some chili! :teeth:

I haven't tried this ride, can someone tell me briefly what it's about???

I have tried this ride and I don't know what's it about.:confused3

We have just returned from WDW and we are all in agreement that this was the worst ride we did at any of the parks, by a long way.

IMO it's not exciting, funny or educational, just plain bad. Fortunately we rode it last thing one evening and walked straight in.

But as others have said, ride it and see for yourself, you may love it - some do. :goodvibes

I'm a fan of Stitch I like the ride. I think Stitch is a funny ride and all, but I liked alien encounter better.
