Stitch's Great Escape...A Mom and Me Birthday Celebration! *7/26 Link to new PTR*

Hi Jay! Or should I just start calling you superstar?!? We went away for a few days and I come back and your new trip report is already on page 4! You have quite the following.

I am loving the start.....your Stitch is one lucky kid. I had been wondering for awhile now what resort you guys stayed at. It sounds like you made a good decision. Can't wait to read more!

I am excited to see your stay at CSR- we are staying there in June! Great start for a great mommy and son trip!

Oh Jay......what a wonderful way to start your trip!!! So many surprises for that little Stitch of yours!!! I am loving everything so far.....your trips are always so special!!

Thats awsome they did all that for stitch. Makes me think again about staying at that resort.

I'm here, Jay!!!! :yay:

One Question ----- How the HECK did I get stuck at the Bottom of Page 3?!?!?!?!:confused3

Only 24 hours after your first post & here we are. At the bottom of page 3....

My gosh, girlfriend, have you got a following. I'm amazed (or awed) :worship: at the number of people you have brought out of "lurkdom". I'm not worthy........:upsidedow

I LOVE Geeves! (That's what I would have called him, too.) Busted out laughing with the thought of him calling out to others in the airport about Stitch's birthday. Too sweet. :flower3:

Can't wait for more.

(Now I'm probably at the middle of page 4 because I took the time to post.) :snooty:

LYMI!
HA HA HA, I am just big mouthed that's how it got so long already. ;) And Barb, you are worthy...I wish you could have made an appearence in this trip report. What fun we would have had (with Heidi too).

The airport greeting was so much fun. I loved it. I wish I would have video taped it.

Jay, that Rolls Royce limo was an awesome surprise. I bet you earned a ton of rockin mom points :thumbsup2
Stitch looks excited and a bit stunned by it all, I bet he was on cloud nine :cloud9: during the entire ride.

I hope there's a moment of realization picture for the resort. I'd love to see how he reacts to finding out which resort you picked.
I tried to snap a picture of him when he saw where we were, but it didn't turn out because we were sitting next to each other by that point and all I got was a picture of his shoulder and arm. :rotfl:

We were both on cloud nine during our limo ride (him from the limo and me from watching him).:cloud9:

Hello Jay - I really enjoyed your last trip report but didn't post til the very end. I thought I would come out sooner this time. What a great start ! The limo surprise was awesome.

I have two sons and you have definitely inspired me to the possibility of one on one trips with my boys.
I loved the one on one time. It was really a treat for me! And it was for him as well. I hope you are able to take your very own mom/son trips!

Awwww, the look on Stitch's face while he was in the limo is priceless! He looks as if he was ready to burst! :goodvibes I am so glad Jeeves announced his birthday along your airport route, it's always nice to have a big deal made over your birthday! I love that he called home to tell everyone about the limo, it's nice that he wanted to include his brothers in on the latest.
Stitch is very close to his brothers. We made a lot of phone calls back home that week. ;)

WOW sounds like CSR really stepped up for you guys!! I know that it has a bit of a reputation as an "adult" resort because of the convention services they have, but sounds like they are definaltey remembering that they are a Disney resort!! What a great start for your trip!!!
We didn't get that feeling at all! Although we did see a lot of convention goers, we saw even more families. The CSR seemed to be stepping it up for so many guests. I was very impressed with the staff there.

What a great beginning to your trip.:goodvibes
:thumbsup2 Thanks!

Ok now I am crying!

What a wonderful time you are having - and you just got there! Stich will remember this birthday forever! Great planning Mom! :woohoo:
Now you sound like me.

I'm here, I'm here, a bit late but I made it.

So far so awesome, can I just say your the best mom ever and your family is so lucky to have you.

I can't wait to hear the rest! :goodvibes
Late, nope, we haven't even gotten to our room yet. ;) Thanks for the sweet words.

Talk about arriving in style! What a thrill. :goodvibes
It really was a thrill! I love thinking back and remembering the look on his face!

I'm in! What a great start to your trip, and a great start to what I'm sure will be a fab TR. I love reading your TRs, I feel like I'm on vacation with you! Can't wait to read about the rest!
Thanks and it's GREAT to see you here! I hope you have been well.

No plans yet, but I"m hoping to learn from the mistress of surprises;)

That is so awesome! All that and you're not even in your room. Can't wait to read more.:surfweb:

We're doing QS plan this summer. Stayig at POFQ (Alligator!) so I'm bummed you didn't pick that one. But CSR is still on my list (I change my mind a lot). I, too, am spoiled by deluxes, but this year's trip is a 'budget' one.
ha ha ha mistress of surprises...that makes me sound like Elvira.:lmao:

I do the change my mind a lot thing too. I love exploring my options (I just seem to find too many of them to have an easy time narrowing it down). ;)

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed CSR. Can't wait to hear more about how the QS plan went - that would be the one I'd end up getting if I ever chose to do a dining plan!
The QS plan worked out really well for us this time. For Stitch, it was perfect to not be tied down to dining plans and be able to eat on the run when and where we wanted.

yayy!! so glad this trippie is started! and with so many wonderful things already, i can't wait to hear more!! :goodvibes

i know you probably don't think so considering it was so early in the day, but i think you look really pretty in the picture of you with Stitch on the plane! :flower3:
Thank you...I did think I looked half asleep in that one. I am just glad that taking it distracted him from the minor turbulence. ;)

What a great start to your stay at CSR! I was smiling the entire time I was reading your update, what a special day for Stitch!

We stayed at CSR on our first trip with the boys, they LOVED the pool with the spitting jaguar. We had a room pretty close to the pool and very close to a bus stop, which was great. The only thing I didn't like was the long distance to the main building - it was quite a haul anytime we went to Pepper Market or to the gift shop to pick up packages. I'm with you, I enjoyed Pepper Market, the food was pretty good, and they have a huge variety! DH didn't care for it though, but he's not big on quick service meals period.
That is one of the very few things we didn't like about the CSR it was just SOOOO spread out. Most times I wouldn't mind the beautiful stroll but at WDW when you are already walking...it was just more walking on top of all of that walking.

What a great start to this trip report. You have me crying already go figure:rolleyes: Sounds like CSR has stepped it up a bit since our last visit there. I cant wait to see some more pics and hear the rest. I hope you got one of the redone rooms so I can hear all about it and the new quick service plan. I cant believe I am so late to the Jay party. LOL.
Ha ha ha, now you are sounding like me too. I am such a sap. I was very impressed with the CSR's customer service.

HA HA HA Super something (super nerd is what dh called me when I forgot to stop reading while going down and tripped on the stairs the other day). Did you go somewhere fun? It's awesome to 'see' you here!:goodvibes

I am excited to see your stay at CSR- we are staying there in June! Great start for a great mommy and son trip!
Enjoy the CSR! It was a very nice resort! I wish I were going back so soon! :cloud9:

Oh Jay......what a wonderful way to start your trip!!! So many surprises for that little Stitch of yours!!! I am loving everything so far.....your trips are always so special!!
Awww, thanks. I really couldn't have planned how well the start of our stay went. It was all luck!

Thats awsome they did all that for stitch. Makes me think again about staying at that resort.
If you don't mind spread out (and it was SOOOO spread out) it was a wonderful resort and I think a great deal since it felt more deluxe to me (in lots of ways) than moderate.

This one is moving too fast for me. I just got caught up.

The limo idea was a good one. I really liked the Rolls.

I've heard good and bad about CSR. I'm impressed with the way they treated you. That piece of smothered cake was every kid's dream!

Hi Jay! I'm so glad you started your new trippie :woohoo:!
Can't wait to read the rest of it during my breaks from writing my master's thesis popcorn::!

Welcome! And thank you for your sweet words. What a lucky family...I hope you guys all enjoy your trip. What a dream come true to be able to enjoy WDW with three generations!

The memories we have all built together are so important to me. I know that no matter what happens, how old the boys get, how far the boys move or what life throws at us; we will always share those happy memories with each other. I truly do love, adore and cherish every single one of my guys (from dh to my tiny Buzz). Without them, I wouldn't be half the person I am now. All of them have brought so much to my life. I wouldn't trade (even one of them) for anything. Enough sap, but yes, I do love them beyond all reason/words.

Thank you for those kind words. Yes, we are firm believers that family is everything. We vacation every year together. Then being the kind grandmother that I am I allow my DD's and families to have their own vacations also. I even let my DH of 42 years take me places without the rest of the brood

Am so loving your report. I am excited to hear about CSR as that is where we will be staying in May. I have a feeling that Stitch is going to absolutely love it there. That pool looks fantastic. I can't wait to read what other "surprises" you have picked for him.
Ginny

CSR, awesome choice :thumbsup2 I was just as excited as Stitch was to find out!
I am going to follow this TR closely, we are planning on using the QSDP on our July trip, because we have a hard time getting our picky 10year old to eat in some of the TS restaurants, and I am not planning on throwing $ away now that he is an "adult" :confused3

I can't wait to see how your room turns out, I was very frustrated along with you over the WL cleaning (or lack of being cleaned) problems. I'm ready for another update, so don't stay away too long, please :worship:

What awesome one on one time!! As mom to two boys, I may definitely consider something like this. How fun and memorable would it be!! Great surprises so far too, I can't wait to hear more!

I will say it again.... Disney is so wonderful at making you feel special! :wizard: I love all of the attention that Stitch received! He must have been on cloud 9! :cloud9: And to be the mom seeing your sweet boy being so showered in all of the magic would be the best! :lovestruc

I can't get over how much Stitch is really starting to look like Goofy. Four handsome boys!!

I can't wait to read more! The pictures are fab!:cheer2:

I have to admit, I took a few bites of his smothered cake too (and it was very good)! I had heard both good and bad as well. I think I have yet to come across a resort that I haven't heard both about though. ;)

Hi Jay! I'm so glad you started your new trippie :woohoo:!

What are you writing your thesis on? Thanks for joining in. :)

Stitch did love the CSR (and I didn't think it was half bad either) :thumbsup2

The QS plan was great. With two meals and two snacks a day it was hard to ever claim you were hungry. ;)

What awesome one on one time!! As mom to two boys, I may definitely consider something like this. How fun and memorable would it be!! Great surprises so far too, I can't wait to hear more!
The one on one time was great. If you carve it out in the middle of a family trip (just a day off alone with one of them) or if you plan a week long mom/son fest...I just think it can be so much fun! :) Have fun dreaming up special times with your sons! :)

I will say it again.... Disney is so wonderful at making you feel special! :wizard: I love all of the attention that Stitch received! He must have been on cloud 9! :cloud9: And to be the mom seeing your sweet boy being so showered in all of the magic would be the best! :lovestruc
He was very happy. And it was the best to watch him soak it all in! :wizard:

Day 1...Time to Explore the CSR!

As I sat with the goofy grin trying to call dh, Stitch told me that nature was calling and unless I wanted to see him sitting in a puddle, it was time for me to find him a restroom. Ha ha. So, I tossed the phone back in my bag and we paid for our food (check out at the Pepper Market is very easy and quick) using 1 credit each and we made our way to the restroom.

Once he had answered the call of nature, we did a bit of exploring. I will let the photos do the explaining. The CSR is just beautiful!

Laid back! We took the time to enjoy the hammocks more than once throughout our time at the CSR.

We both laughed when we read this sign.

part two coming right up

Day 1...Time to Explore the CSR (part 2)

Just about the time we walked by the pool and saw the other guests swimming, it dawned on me that I was really hot. I was still in my sweater that made sense when I put it on this morning and it was only 50* out. Now that I was in central Florida and the weather was over 30* higher, it made no sense at all. It was then I started to wonder why the front desk hadn't called us yet to give us our room number. So, I flipped open my phone and saw that I hadn't turned the airplane mode off when we had made our call home earlier. I had just overrode it for one call. Thus, no new phone calls were coming in. Once I set it to accept incoming calls I saw that we had missed two calls from a 407 number. Over an hour and a half before(within fifteen minutes of us checking in), he left us a message letting us know that indeed our room was ready and we were welcome to make our way there whenever we wanted. I wanted to take bell services up on their offer of a ride to our room with our luggage whenever it was ready. So, we headed off back toward "El Centro" (the main area). Once again, I went a bit snap happy. Hee hee.

How exciting :)

I absolutely loved CSR when I stayed there in December they seriously have the nicest CMs out of any resort I have stayed at

I am glad your vacation started off so well I can't wait to read more

My goodness! I can't believe I am this far behind. What a great surprise for Stitch!
The resort looks beautiful. I can't wait to see what other adventures you and Stitch will have!:)

Wow Jay!! Awesome trip report so far...not that I'm surprised :goodvibes The Coronado is absolutley beautiful!! It's good to know that Disney strives for perfection on all levels as we can't all afford "Deluxe" all the time. I'm loving all your surprises so far!!
