Rumor I read on another board has SGE grand opening on
Sept 13!! Has anyone else heard or read about this as well to confirm?

Well, it better open up before November so I could see how terrible it is compared to AE.

They probably wanted a more disney themed ride. Besides, I think I'll enjoy SGE more than AE.

I think that this will definately fit into the "family" atmosphere more than AE, which I was never able to go on as the kids were too small. This will be another attraction that we can all go on together as a family.

I can't wait to see this - I was hoping for extra-early previews like last year's MS in Epcot but it looks like it won't happen. Guess I'll have to plan another trip...

We'll be there 9/8 thru 9/15.....I hope we get a chance at a soft opening or something. I love Stitch !!!

I agree with Prince Eric- this will be something that the whole family can go on together. The more of this that Disney does the better.

ANYTHING will be better than Alien Encounter!

Donning flame proof suit now!:teeth:

The point I'm trying to make here is that AE was NOT designed for small children, so just don't take them in. But NO, they had to spoil it for everyone just because somebody's little johnny was scared. Oh well. Thats just my opinion. I'll have to see how it is. It should be cool.

We just got back from a couple of weeks at the World.
You can see over the construction walls from the TTA, and to
be honest, it looked like they had a long way to go (sorry to
disappoint). Once we saw inside the doors of the old AE, and
it looked more like a construction zone than an attraction.

Plus, the outside que area has not even been touched and
the old "XS-Tech" sign above the doorway is still in place (are
they incorporating this into the new Stitch ?).

My humble prediction from the recent looks of it is Sept. will
be a stretch, later Oct. is more likely.

Wow, I hope Stitch is open by October 11-16. We were' already a little bummed when my 4 yr old daughter said the next time we go to WDW ( she doesn't know were going this fall ) she can't wait to go on It's A Small World. We didn't know when we put in for vacation requests that it would be closed during theis time. I was looking forward to it as I enjoy watching the lilo and stitch tv series with my daughter.

My family never rode AE because, well, we kind of expected a family ride at a family park. So, anything that isn't plain awful will be a plus for us. Hope it's ready by the end of October.

If the attraction was doing well, it would still be open. Obviously, if folks weren't going to AE, re-working it is hardly spoiling it for everyone...

I liked AE, but I thought it got a little tired. Unless I was with someone who had never been before, I never saw it anymore.

AE was great...the first time.
after that when you know what to expect it wasn't the same.
Hopefully SGE will be multidimensional enough to be enjoyed over & over.

That is the exact same problem that I have with 'It's Tough to Be a Bug.'
The show is brilliant but I have seen it a few time now and know all that happens with your seat. I love taking someone new there because I can enjoy their reactions but I would rather skip it myself.
I think some of the rides are geared with the expectation that people don't get to go to WDW very often so everything continues to feel new to them. This is not a complaint - just an observation.
I loved AE. I miss it. However, I CAN'T WAIT FOR STITCH!

I think Alien Encounter was worse than ITTBAB, the Muppets and Honey I Shrunk the Audience in this respect because at AE the seat effects were the whole experience, whereas the others all have a show. The effects in those other shows is just part of the entertainment experience.

I do agree DancingBear - those shows have appeal a few more times than AE. The same concept though that they do get old as well to me. I haven't seen Mickey's Philharmagic yet and can't wait for that first time experience.
I think I just will have to try and take someone new on my visits so I can enjoy watching them with the rides that haven't gotten old with me.
I love taking an adult for the first time that expects it to be like six flags no matter what you tell them in advance. Their eyes bug out just as much as little kids. It is the best!
