You know, Im reading your options, and it's ticking me off. It seems like theyre attempting to get out of having to file any sort of lay off / unemployment with Illinois.
Youve been with the company long enough to ask them to work with you, with this. It's not right, and again - you have paid into that unemployment (as have they, but thats too damn bad. That's why it's called 'unemployment insurance')
See what you can do about getting them to mark this as a LAY OFF (if you dont choose the reduced thing) because it doesnt matter how they slice it - it's a lay off. They can call it what they want, but it's a flipping lay off. This is probably part of the reason they're attempting to get around anyone knowing such by not emailing it out to everyone. That email alone, can get you unemployment.
