Still Sassy after all this time!

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I guess everyone doesn't really post a lot anymore. I hope everyone had a great holiday season! :)

Hi to all the Sassies out there. I've been hanging out on the trip report board lately. With the economy in the toilet I don't have any trips planned so I'm living through reading others.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with all your family and friends.

Just in case there are any Sassies still out and about

Happy Leap Day!

I sure wish I was at Disney today for the Leap Day/Extra Disney Day partying.

Happy Leap Day Tricia and all the other Sassies! I haven't been on the DIS much at all. We don't have a Disney trip planned until 2013 or 2014.:scared1:We are going to the Smokey Mountains for Spring Break and it will be fun I'm sure!

I miss all you Sassie-Frasses!

We went there last July. Loved it! That was a vacation I took often with my parents when I was little. My kids really enjoyed it too. Have fun.

Hello Sassies! Anyone out there? I've doing myself really missing you all lately... How is everyone?

Hi Shannon and all the other Sassies! I was shocked to get a notification that someone posted on our thread!! How is everybody?

Shannon-are you still decorating and painting like crazy? How are the boys?

I don't get on the DIS much since we don't have a WDW trip planned. We went last year for DISapalooza at WWoHP in December and stayed at Bonnet Creek. We also went to Busch Gardens Tampa and Sea World. I gotta say those parks rock! I love animals, though, so I think that may have something to do with it. But I was way too wimpy for most of the roller coasters at Busch Gardens - they are seriously scary.

We are trying to go to Europe next year, but it is SO expensive I don't know if we'll be able to swing it.

I'm a step-granny times 3 now. My step-daughter just had a baby boy on Friday.

I miss you guys! I hope you check in and post soon! :grouphug:

Yeah, some Sassie activity! I haven't been on the DIS much either. We are going back next August. Were going to stay 2 nights at the Hardrock Hotel so we can get the express pass for Universal. The boys loved Universal last year.

Wow Angie 3 step grand babies! Do they live near you? I haven't been to Sea World or Busch Gardens in years. I bet the boys would love both since they are thrill junkies.

The furniture your turning out is fabulous Shannon! You must have a lot of patience. I've tried refinishing furniture and I get bored or frustrated too easily.

Tricia I have seen you around the trip report board! I don't usually post on trip reports, but I love reading them!

Hey to all the other Sassies out there!

Greetings Sassettes

Nice to see all the names again. Wishing y'all a happy evening.

Oh my, I'm rescanning this thread and Kimmy's toe socks were a hoot! :rotfl2:

Judi????? I didn't even get a notification that someone posted on our thread! I still miss our group!

Hey a little activity on the old thread! Hope everybody is happy and healthy!

Hey all!

Just grateful for sunny 70 degree weather in PA.
Hope everyone is doing OK.
Busy, busy, busy...

Well, a lot has changed in my household since the Sassies were chatting all the time. After 20 years of being a stay at home mom I went back to work last May. Already coming up on a year. While of course I would rather be home I have to admit I do like my job. It's only about twelve minutes from my house and the people are really nice. The extra money doesn't hurt either. :goodvibes

My oldest Kelsie has already completed two years in college. She actually has an interview with LSU Dental School tomorrow. She is reapplying to the School of Dental Hygiene. They have about 170 applicants every year, they grant 60 students an interview and they accept 30 into the program. She applied last year, got as far as the interview but did not get accepted into the program. She sat out of school and is working at a Dental Office because she has all the prerequisites for getting in. So for any of you who pray I sure would appreciate a prayer for her tomorrow morning.

Kendall my middle daughter is a Junior in high school. We will be looking to get her a car soon (one of the two reasons I'm back at work. College being the other )

Then their is Colin who is in 7th grade and the DH and I.

We will be heading back to Disney in June. It's been way too long since we've last been. So I enjoy seeing my ticker count down the days for me. We are actually going with my whole family. Two sisters and their families along with my mom and dad. Nineteen in total, can't wait!

Next.... I'd love for everyone to jump in and fill us in on what's been happening.

Wow Tricia a lot has changed in your family!

Brendan is 14 and in 8th grade. I can't believe I'll have a high schooler next year. He still swims competitvely and qualified for the middle school state swim meet the last 2 years. He is really dedicated and will be attending a swim camp at a local college this year.

Justin is 11 and in 5th grade. He will be going to the middle school next year. He swims competitvely also and is getting better and better. He also takes guitar lessons and is getting really good.

I am still doing daycare although thinking about a change.

We haven't been to Disney since August 2011. We were going to go this August, but decided to wait until next year when more of Fantasyland is done. So this year we are going to Yellowstone, Black Hills and Badlands for 2 weeks.

Next......

It's all coming back to me Becky. When you mentioned your kids swimming I do remember you always being at the pool or a swim meet or chauffeuring the kids to and from practice. That's such great exercise. Does the High School have a swim team that Brendan can be on next year?

Please everyone come back. I miss this old thread and all you great people!

My update:

I finally moved to Florida. I am in Naples. I have an amazing job now that while it can be challenging, it still is a much better to be than where I was before. I actually have a set career path I can follow.

My husband moved up to management at his store a couple years ago and was lucky enough to transfer on our move down here.

We close on our house Thursday evening. We move on Friday/Saturday. The place we are currently living & initially were going to be buy has been a complete nightmare. I will be glad to be out of this place.

As far as vacations, in 2012, we didn't really do a lot of Disney. We went to Hilton Head in Feb, I went for for a 2 night trip in March/April between two work trips where I had to go to PA for a 5 night work visit & then had to be in Orlando for a Convention 2 days later. Over Memorial Day, I spent a few days in California for a job potential & did sneak in 1 day in Disneyland. We did a 7 Night Cruise in September. I went to Ohio for work in October. In November I found out I got the job in Florida & moved down on December 1st. Overall, it was a very busy year.

So far for 2013, I went to Disney for 2 nights in Feb, 2 nights in March. We have a 2 night trip planned for May, 4 nights in July, and 8 nights in October. We also plan to sneak in a trip in Sept for Halloween Horror Nights. We will end up visiting my husband's parents sometime this year. Luckily being Florida Residents now has made this a lot cheaper along with our DVC helping too.

No children for us outside our 2 furry animals.

I'm glad everyone else is doing well.
