Happy Hump Day! My favorite day of the week!

Speaking of hunks I was perusing the Sexiest Men issue of People whilst getting my hair done some mighty fine men in there for sure!

Nothing like a hot fireman to get your day started. Thanks Judi.

So Mark is in Orlando for three days and can you believe he's not going to see Mickey. :sad2: He is at some downtown hotel and he said there is no sign of him anywhere. I guess they cater to the conventioneers and the mouse doesn't play into that. Sad really. :guilty:

The grinch thread:scared1:

never knew there were so many unhappy people out there.

Maybe I should read them Dr. Seuss or have them watch Charlie Brown's Christmas. It's not about the stuff. :)

Speaking of stuff, Becca what's the cookie menu this year;)

I need a link to the Grinch thread please Judi.

I think peanut butter balls, sugar cookies, skillet cookies, hard candy, puppy chow, carmel corn and blueberry muffins will be what goes into my Christmas gift baskets this year. I'm trying to cut back a little bit since the price of baking staples are way up too. I'm getting a 25 pound bag of sugar and flour at Sam's Club since it seems to be cheaper there. It will go nicely with the 50 pound bag of popcorn Brian bought last week.:lmao:

Do you have any cookie requests?

/
Becca I don't think I've ever heard of skillet cookies. :confused3 Do you really cook them on the stove instead of in the oven?

Yes, you do cook them on the stove. They have dates, nuts, rice krispies, eggs and butter. You cook them till they are thick and then you roll them into balls and in coconut. They are a really moist cookie and ship well. They are one of Brian's favorites.

All I have to say about that Grinch thread is WOW! Maybe I should list out the kind of year I have had, it may make some of them think twice:confused3

Puppy chow:confused3
:rotfl2:[/QUOTE]

Puppy Chow is on the Chex Cerael boxes. We called it Muddy Buddy Mix and it is so good. It's Chex cerael, peanut butter, chocolate and powdered sugar. Very addictive. :sad2:

Skillet Cookies
1 stick of margarine
2 eggs lightly beaten
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup dates chopped
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup nuts chopped
2 cups rice krispies

Melt margaine in a large skillet over medium heat, add eggs, sugar and dates. cook until thick, add vanilla, nuts and rice krispies. Cool till you can handle with bare hands. Roll into balls and roll in coconut.

They are really sticky while rolling so I leave some moisture on my hands and rinse them often.

Puppy Chow
9 cups chex
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup margarine
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar

1. pour cereal into a large bowl

2. Microwave chocolate chips, pb and margarine on high 1 to 1-1/2 minutes, stir in vanilla

3. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal, stir until all pieces are coated. Then pour into a large resealable bag with powdered sugar. Seal securely and shake the crap out of it till all pieces are coated. Spread on wax paper to cool. Store in air tight container.

Thanks for the recipes, Becca. I'm def gonna make the :dog: chow for my family.
