It's been six weeks today. I've emailed already, I've still got nothing. Is it safe to assume I'm not getting in?

What roles did you apply for?
I auditioned for entertainment a month ago, and Michelle said it could still be a week or two before I hear back.

Why dont you give them a call, it wont hurt to ask if maybe the letter was sent out but something happened and you didnt recieve it yet. Dont assume that you havnt gotten in just because you didnt get a letter yet. It took almost 7 weeks for my friend Chris to get his :S And he got accepted into Attractions. Your letter might have gotten lost in the mail or something! The Number to contact them is 1-800-722-2930.

Ugh! I called, talked to someone, who said nothing has been sent and no decision has been made! What the heck? If I'm living in Florida next semester, I need to know! I've got paperwork that needs writing, prescriptions to have written, and it's going to be difficult to convince my doctor to give me 5 months worth of pills. If I'm staying home I need to get my accomidations ironed out for my ornithology class. I seriously need to know! I'm so frustrated.

I'm feeling your pain (only shorter ;) ) I'm 3 weeks out, just called and it's "still with the recruiter".

Don't give up hope! From what I've heard, they are really backed up with applications and such. I was so frustrated waiting for mine, I was convinced that I wasn't getting in. Don't give up until you hear from them!

Well I definitely know what you mean about this. It might depend on the medication, but you've got some options.

1.) Some doctors offices will call in a renewal for you after your prescription runs out. You still have to do your bi-yearly/yearly/whatever checkups, but if you're on good terms with your doctor, they should have no problem doing this.

2.) I'm not too sure about this, but I know some pharmacies/companies do mail-away prescriptions, and it shows up in the mail whenever it's due to run out. Again, this probably depends on what kind of meds you need.

3.) I am not sure what pharm you're using, but I highly recommend Target. There's a SUPERTarget quite near us, from what I understand, their Pharmacy is usually quite quick (and you can shop while you wait), and it's trivial to get a prescription filled across the country. I was in Minnesota for 8 weeks last summer and I had minimal difficulties getting my scrip.

I just recommend that you have an appointment/check up with any doctors that prescribe an ongoing medication for you, explain the situation, and they may have other options that I don't know about :)

Don't fret. I think they took nearly 6 weeks to get back to me :]

Trust me it's not safe to assume you didn't make it. Today would have been my 10 week mark but I got my letter this past Saturday!

The wait sucks, but just hold it out. I understand that it's late notice. I was house searching with possible future roommates, but now they're looking for a three bedroom because I'll now be in Florida.

If you go and have a chat with your housing people, they might give you a break. On my campus, 75% of the freshmen are stuck in temporary triples - 3 people living in a room designed for 2 - so they suspended the "deposit penalty", meaning that no matter when you give in notice, there's no penalty for leaving campus as long as you fill out the forms. It's a nice little $200 bonus!

I'm sure your letter will get to you very soon! There was a bunch of us that applied the very 1st day and all of us had to wait between 5-8 weeks. For me personally, I think I had to wait right around 6 weeks. I'm sure you'll get something soon.

I would call your recruiter directly. They really don't mind as long as you're respectful:) Boy... i sure understand the frustration that you're feeling though!! I felt MUCH better after talking everything over with Michelle, though (my recruiter) she was very helpful in explaining everything to me and continues to be very helpful when i email her questions and such.

I know it's easier said than done, but stay calm, stay positive and just keep busy as much as possible!! It will come:)

No letter yet, but my recruiter told me over the phone that I got in. :)

Hmmmm...I wonder why some recruiters will tell and others won't? Did she tell you what role?

If I was to make a guess, they probably have a policy not to say anything over the phone that some people in the office choose not to follow.

The reason being is that they tell someone. That person jumps on here and annouces that they called and were told. Then everyone starts calling. They end up spending time on the phone that would otherwise be used to do what they need to do.

But I bet that some may feel sorry for someone and let the cat out.

Overall, they need to readjust what they are telling people to better match their timelines and also explain that a pending letter is a notification that only gives another date as to when a final decision will be made or sent. I'm seeing that some people are fussing that they have waited weeks and weeks, but they really got a pending letter within the correct notification time frame telling them when they should expect a final decision.

A recruiter told me today they're trying to get all the materials out by Monday and apparently they ARE fedexing. Hallelujah..lol. Apparently the latest date they're anticipating people getting stuff is the 15 of December.

I had a recruiter tell me the same thing today! She was sooo nice and said that the supervisors were pushing them to get a move on getting letters out to people that were waiting and that I should call on Monday just to make sure they sent out my letter. Its only been 3 weeks for me but I am a worry wart :rotfl: So it seems like FOREVER!!!!! So I will work like a dog this weekend and make it go faster and maybe I will have WONDERFUL news next week. :cool1: :cool1: :wizard: A little Pixie dust for my fellow waiters :D

I caved and called again today. I explained that I'm having to move a family, so if she could just tell me a yes or no, I'd REALLY appreciate it. She did better than that...told me I had been extended an offer for merchandise! :cool1: She did say that they aren't normally allowed to say anything, but since I had "extenuating circumstances", she told me. I am SO grateful to her...we only have 23 days to pack now and get the "girl spaces" cleaned and prepped for a five month sabbatical!
