Still no point chart for April 2008 cruise

I called yesterday to try and book an April 2008 cruise with my DVC points and I was told that the point chart won't be out for another month or month and a half! I was told that I would have to call back after the chart was out.

So I guess I won't bother calling MS today for Thanksgiving 2008 3 day cruise.

Why does the member website say that 2008 point chart for cruises will be out in early February if it won't be out for another month

Most years it's been mid March to early April.

Thanks Dean, I'll let DH know, as he keeps bugging me to call MS! As we are a year plus out from our cruise(he already looked up cash price on DCL website, so why isn't the point chart out ?)

Several years ago DVC allowed some people to book ahead before the charts were out. The caveat was they had to agree to the price no matter what it was. Why not book a cash reservation now and then see where you stand. I know some have been able to do this and transfer over keeping the same cabin.

Thanks for the advice, but I can still get on the Thanksgiving 3 day 2007, so I am not going to book it for 2008 just yet. Points are burning a hole in DH's pocket .

I called MS a couple days ago & they said they have no idea when to expect the point charts to be released. They suggested booking a cruise with pts. based on the '07 charts and then would be able to cancel it later. NOT! I want to see those freaking charts first! I have no idea how radically they may change from year to year...so we will wait. Meanwhile, I know the cash price goes up all the time while we wait. We're getting the shaft in my book.

I sent MS an email earlier this evening to point out that it's now Feb. 15 which is no longer "early Feb" in my book! I just couldn't resist 'cuz I've been checking the website EVERY DAY....

I have been calling MS too because I have the 15 night eastern repo cruise booked. I am anxious to know how many points it will cost me. The longer I wait, the more points I think it might take since the cash price keeps going up. I also have a cash reservation which i have already paid deposit on.

I think MS is just as frustrated as the members because they have to go through the bookings without taking the points, and then they have to call members back when the points come out to see if they still want the reservations. It is double work for them. One advisor told me that it took her 2 hours on 1/31 to make one booking for someone!!!
