Stich Ride....

Anyone know where the stich ride will be and when it will be opened? Just wondering since we are headed to the world in Dec.

it is located in the old building that housed alien encounter. it should be opened in early fall. hoping it is open for december too!

We went in April for the first time this past year, so we did not get to go on AE. So we do not know where this building is. Can you give some insight?

It is in Tomorrowland. As you cross the main bridge into Tomorrowland from the hub it is on the left. I am pretty sure it is the first attraction on the left.

I haven't heard about this new ride. What type of ride is it going to be? I hope it's cool.

And let me just point out that I'm very happy that there will be no more alien encounter. That was a waste of space to have that attraction there. It was also a waste of our time to even go to that attraction when we were at Disney.

The sign on the barricade for Stitch's Great Escape said coming Fall 2004 when I was there this week. Rumour has it that Fall 2004 means October at this point. There is a good chance it will be open before you get there.

A few points of interest right now...

The XS-Tech sign is still there from Alien Encounter...

And I noticed that if you walk by the barricade that is up, you can hear Stitch making noises and speaking (although I don't remember if it was in English or his alien speak, but it was definitely his voice). I thought it was pretty cool to include that, makes it more interesting.

Thank you for this information! We are going in late October, so I hope the ride will be up and running, since my husband is a HUGE Stich fan (just had to get him the Stitch polo shirt at TDS this weekend).

When we were there a couple of weeks ago, they had a sign up reading Coming Fall 2004. I have heard possible Sept, does anyone know if it might open by then? We are going back at the end of Sept and really want to see this.

We are hoping it will be open by the time we go, October 16th. My 8 yr old dd is a Stitch fanatic, she is soooooooooo excited for this.

I don't know anything definite but I have heard soft opening might start as early as mid Aug.

If you do it in August, wouldn't that turn into a hard opening with the crowds? Hmmmm very interesting.

If it's a soft opening then it will only open at odd times. That's what they did with Mission Space last year. It wasn't until mid-August when it was up and running most of the time.

We were there last June and MS was open periodically throughout the day.

Yup, we rode it in early July last year. I was kind of hoping that Stitch would be doing test runs in July this year, but I doubt it after seeing the status of the ride last month.
