I've noticed a lot of posters stay at HIFS and a disney hotel for their visits. Is it disappointing switching hotels like that? Or do any of you like HIFS better? It must rank pretty high if so many people split their stay between there and disney property.
What are your thoughts....

We switch because my kids love HIFS, all the activities they offer, and my DH loves his own T.V. and privacy. We stay a few nights on property to cure my curiosity of Disney resorts. I like it because it gives me something new to look forward to.

95- offsite
97- Nikki bird
98- Holiday Inn M.E.
99- Days suites

01- Animal kingdom lodge and HIFS

I always switch resorts. I usually stay off-site for our first night and then move on-site for 5 nights. We're DVC members, so we stay at OKW Sunday-Friday. Then, we move off-site again for a few days. It's a way that we can save DVC points and still enjoy WDW. We always have a rental car and APs so parking is free.

I do the same as Robinb, I stay in local hotels on the weekends to save DVC points.

It is disappointing to move from a DVC Resort. No local hotel I've stayed in is quite like OKW or the BW. On days that I'm in a hotel, I spend very little time in the room and might actually go to the pool at OKW to relax.

hmmmmm, its not a hassle checkin in checkin out moving luggage etc? When I'm on vacation I want as little inconvenience as possible. Once I'm there....I'm there. :D

Yeah, it's kinda a pain. But I could not make as many trips or stay as long if I didn't change resorts.
