Staying Offsite in January/Feb Should I pay 4 express shipping to book fastpass+?

I got my Disney Rewards redemption card and am ready to buy our tickets for our trip starting January 31. If I buy now, they won't arrive until AFTER our fastpass window opens. So my choice is will call or pay for express shipping. My question is if I buy the tickets today and pick them up when we get to Disney, will I be able to book my fastpasses on January 1 for our first park? Or should I pay the $15 for express shipping?

Where are you buying the tickets from? From the WDW website directly? In that case you don't need to wait for them to be shipped before making FP ressies.

Yes, purchasing from WDW website to take advantage of Disney Rewards. It says people arriving in the next 30 days can choose will call and make fastpass selections. But it's not clear to me if I buy my tickets now (and do will call or they arrive in early January) if I can make fastpass selections before I have tickets in hand. I haven't bought tickets this way before- do you choose your dates after putting in payment info?

Sorry- I just don't want to jeopardize my fastpass window (which is already compromised by my first one opening January 1...)

I just did this today. I bought 2 will call 1 day tickets and they linked them to my account in MDE and I booked fp+,
I am staying onsite but I am at my 25 day mark.

1. You do NOT need to have the tickets in-hand.

Once you ORDER your tickets from WDW with "Will Call" delivery, you will be able to make your FP+ selections instantly**.
Assuming you are within your 30-day window before going to your first park (60 day window, if staying at a WDW resort.)

This.....

We added a last minute (one week before we were set to leave) traveler to our party after we had purchased Undercover tourist tix. So, we were not sure about the FP+ thing either....figured we would have to buy and pay for express shipping from UT and hope for the best. But, then I looked at WDW online and decided to call to ask...the CM told me once we purchased and received the confirmation # all we had to do was enter the conf # into our MDE account and we would be good to go. It was true....bought online and 30 sec later my wife was trying to add a 7th FP+ to our existing 6 for all of our rides for all of our days. We don't want to waste time our first day waiting on will call and all that jazz, so we are just gonna try to get in the night before a little earlier than planned...head to DTD and pick up the tic there. Plus, now we have an excuse to eat Wolfgang Puck Express and Ice Cream! We were not originally planning a DTD day...quick 4 day trip..one park each day and MK an extra late night or two after AK and/or Holywood.

On a side note.....we were able to adjust all but one ADR (this includes Germany Candlelight Processional & Boma....could not get all 7 into Moma Melrose for Fantasmic Package at same time...but we have a 4 & a 3...30 mins apart) and were able to adjust all FP+ to be the same or overlap for a minimum of 45 mins except 7DMT...we have 935-1035 & 10-35-1135. So, we will all just go at 1035 on the nose!

And all of this starting from scratch the day after T-giving on the original 6....only FP+ we wanted we couldn't get was TSM....we will just rope drop it. So, last minute can happen and still all or most of what you as long as you are diligent and patient!
