Staying offsite and just booked advance FP+ for next week!

Were going on Sunday and had FP+ opened up to us yesterday. Were AP holders and always stay off-site.
The latest policy from Disney is that U.S. AP holders can book up to 30 days in advance. At any one time, they can make FP+ selections for up to 7 different days.

For example, an AP holder visiting WDW for the next 3 Saturdays and Sundays could make FP+ selections for all 6 of those days.

I think it is fine for AP holders and non to be posting, it is just a bit confusing at times who is able to do what. Really, we are all in the same boat of trying to figure out where we stand in terms of advance FP+ booking.... it is a frustrating and somewhat stressful situation for us to be in. :grouphug:
I understand your pain. Disney needs to be more open about their plans.

I have been told that offsite guests with multiday tickets eventually will be able to book their FP+ selections in advance, assuming the tickets are linked to a MDE account. Sorry, but I don't have a firm date and this.

My reservations are April 26th through the 30th. The let me book fast passes for all of those days back on Feb. 25th. It was not a rolling 60 days. I believe I read that you can book up to 7 days from the begining of your stay.
For onsite guests, it's (supposed to be) 60 days plus length of stay.

not opened to us and we leave in 15 days.. I have tried every day

update, MDE FP+ was still locked earlier today but after I posted this I checked again and now ours is open too :)

another question I have is if you prebook your FP+ at DHS and then go to EPCOT the same day, can you get FP at EPCOT the old fashioned way of walking up to the ride kiosk? or are the 3 you booked for DHS the only ones you can use for the day?

also, if you start booking FP+ and you do the first 2 days of your trip, can you go back to MDE later and finish booking other days? and can you have days where you don't book any and just get them when you arrive at park (assuming there is anything left?)

There are no more paper FPs. It is 3 FP+ and only 3 FP+ in one park and can not be used to repeat any ride.

Didn't you just say on another thread that you can book 60 in advance? I'm confused.
yep, was just on my way over here to edit my post... this morning MDE FP+ was still locked, after writing that I checked again and it is opened... and yes it shows up til sometime in May (not on there now so don't know exact date):cool1:

and so as not to cause any confusion, I am an AP holder staying off site with ADR's booked for our stay

Do we have any reports of how the Original Poster faired for her trip? I am going to be offsite at the end of April, and am really hoping to be able to book FPs before we leave for our trip.

Are you a non-AP off-site guest? Would be nice if we kept the facts straight here to avoid confusion. Last week or so, there were some non-AP offsite guests selected to test advance FP+ booking. This was the discussion in this thread. Now we have AP holders (offsite and onsite) confusing things.

I am an non-AP offsite guest who has my ADRs, tickets, and MM linked on MDE and still have no advance FP+ booking capabilities and I'm 10 days out.

I am not the person you asked, but we are annual passholders staying offsite March 21-31st. We have our annual passes linked in MDE. I was checking everyday to see if we could customize a magic band or book fastpasses. Suddenly this past weekend the site opened up and allowed me to customize the magic bands. It was still several days though before it would let us book fastpasses. I work night shift and I literally checked about 5:30am two days ago and couldn't, then just before I went to bed about 10:00am decided to check again. Suddenly the little lock was gone and I was able to book for seven days. This was like nine or ten days out from our trip. I still haven't received our magic bands though and when I go online to check it still states they are being customized and magic bands for annual passholders should be shipped by the middle of March. Again our trip is March 21st (just eight days away). What happens if the magic bands aren't shipped in time?:confused3

I was really surprised that even at nine or ten days out during spring break, that I was able to get good morning times for rides like Soarin, all three of the MK mountains (in one day), Toy Story, RnR, the safari, and EE.

Hi, just wondered if this OP and any other 'offsiters' have been able to book FP+??

Yes...I have been able to book but I have one night on-site (then a week long stay off-site).

I'm able to book 60 days in advance each day for each day I'm there. In other words, I have to log on each day and pick the rides for whatever park we will be at 60 days from that day. I have two more days to go (I did today's for HS, for example. Will log on tomorrow for an Epcot visit and Sunday for a Magic Kingdom visit)

So it works like ADRs but 60 days out instead of 180.

As far as I know, AP holders are 30 days out (instead of 60) and completely off-siters don't have any advanced FP access. :(

They just opened up pre-booking for AP holders. You can book as far as 30 days out.

I wasn't saying anyone can't post in here, just trying to keep confusion to a minimum. This was started before Disney created more confusion this week with their AP switch. Just wanted to keep clear who's booking FP+ in advance and what their ticket/stay status is so we don't constantly have "misinformation" or confusion. For my situation I am looking for specific information from non-AP holders who are staying 100% offsite.

Sorry for the hurt feelings from a message board. No intent to harm, just an intent to gather information.

This is what I'm hoping for but if not we will go with the flow and still have a fun time.

That's great! Glad it worked out for you.) :thumbsup2

I'll be there the first week of May, frankly at this point I'd be happy to book the day before I travel! I'm 51 days out, nothing changed on MDE however last week my rate at the Dolphin dropped $30 per night (have 2 rooms so that is $60 per night) :cool1:

Exactly. I'd take the night before. Anything to eliminate some of the stress and ultimately the waiting in a FP+ kiosk line.

I think we are all stressed out about this situation, and I think having posters clarify what their particular stats are is very helpful :thumbsup2

How about this? When people report back as to what they could or could not do, they start their post with either: #AP or #non-AP.

And let us know if you are completely offsite or using a partial stay onsite.

Hey guys!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! I had no idea I would be too tired each night to even log onto the computer.

We stayed completely off-site and are not annual ticket holders. We went to DHS, Epcot, MK, and AK. We used FP+ at each park.

For DHS and EP, the crowd levels were low (4 and 5, respectively). For MK and AK, crowd levels were higher (7 and 6, respectively).

Lines at the FP+ kiosks were short (except for the first one as soon as you entered the park). I did notice that the FP return lines at the rides would be extremely long as soon as a return time began (right at 4:45 for a 4:45-5:45 slot) but the lines moved quickly. Most FP return lines had two CMs manning the area, and one CM would pull the blue Mickeys aside to work with their pass while the other kept the line moving.

Once we reached the second Mickey, the CMs handled SB differently at each ride. Some CMs let all FP riders through before allowing any SB riders on the ride. Other CMs would bounce back & forth between the lines (a few FP, then a few SB). The riders in SB at the latter rides were not as mad as the SB riders in the former lines.

We had one instance where I received a blue Mickey for Test Track, which said I had already gone through the ride earlier when my SIL went (we switched off due to a 3 year old and 18 month old in our group that couldn't ride many of the FP rides). I was adamant that I had not been on the ride, so they let me through. Later, my brother told me that when they were booking their Epcot FPs online last week they saw two of me on the MDE (one phantom with no FPs and one with FPs). I'm guessing that glitch was the problem.

The CMs at DHS, EP, and MK were all pleasant and nice. AK, not so much. We dealt with a lot of bad attitudes at AK. A CM at a store snapped at me when another lady spilled a large cup of ice water on the floor (like I had anything to do with that). The DINOSAUR ride broke down when we were in line to ride it (we had FP for it), and the CM told us we could use it at any ride in the park. We chose Expedition Everest, along with 100+ other people. The CMs manning that ride were not happy. One CM told us that it cost us our Safari FP to ride EE but we could book another one at a kiosk. We thought that was odd, so after the ride we went to a FP kiosk to rebook our safari. There was no line and we walked right up to the CM. She rolled her eyes when we walked up. She checked our FPs and we still had our Safari FP.

We went to RD at two parks and were at the parks within the first hour of opening at the other parks. We were able to ride TSMM, Soarin, Space Mtn, and KS (all super-headliners) with a 20 minute SB wait or less (we walked on KS with no wait). Upon leaving the rides, the SB wait was 50-70 minutes.

Overall, the trip was great! If you're all about the thrill rides, you might would like the Dark Side better (more roller coasters over there). We enjoyed the sights, sounds, and parades. And Goofy gave me a high five as he walked by me, which was cool!
Overall, we had a good experience.
