Staying elsewhere

Has anyone stayed with points anyplace other than Disney resorts/cruise and if so, what was your experience?

Fairmont San Fran. Great location on Nob Hill and such a historical grand hotel. Treated very nice.

I wondered if having the DVC points allows you to travel and its worth it or not?

Charleston Place, gorgeous hotel but our room was next to the laundry room....we requested a change and they did move us but the next room wasn't much better location wise.

We spent a week at Marriott Ford's Colony in Williamsburg VA in 2004 and it was great! We had 1bdroom and it was very comparable to dvc:full kitchen, full dining room, washer/dryer, master bath with separate whirlpool are in bedroom area, screened in porch, 2 pools, tennis courts, golf, pizza hut and convenince store, great employees that help with dinner reservations, etc., activities for kids and adults are scheduled weekly, near Busch Gardens, Colonial williamsburg and all attractions.

I would returen to this Marriott in a heartbeeat. If is it representative of the Marriott timeshares, they are great.

Charleston Place Club level. It was a LOT of points but it was really nice. I did feel a little out of place there, having arrived in a Honda rather than one of the two Bentleys they had parked out front but oh well. It's too many points to do on any sort of regular basis, but it was a heckuva nice splurge. The only time in my life I wished I could find a restaurant that didn't have seafood!
