We will be staying in a 1 Bedroom preferred view at the BWV's for the first time at the end of October. We own at VWL (which we love) but I pressured my husband into trying a different resort. We tried to get the boardwalk view but had no luck, we were told we will have a pool or garden view. I have been reading so many negative posts lately about the BWV that I am starting to regret pushing to stay anywhere other than VWL. Can someone tell me some positive things about BWV? What are the views that are preferred view other than boardwalk? Is there a play area that a 2 year old boy will enjoy? Thanks for any infomartion.

You did not make a bad decision to stay at the BWV. We love it. You can walk or take the boat over to Epcot (or MGM) and you have a seperate entrance than everyone else. That helps alot when the park closes and the majority is heading out the front. At night, you can see the Epcot fireworks from on the boardwalk. ( i think you might be able to see some of MGM's depending on the room) Also, you have the whole boardwalk to play on. You can rent those surrey bikes and go around the lake, browse through the shops, or enjoy the atmosphere. At night, there is entertaiment along the boardwalk, so if you are not at a park, you still have things to do. (and as u can see, i'm from jersey too and have been to the jersey boardwalk plenty of times and we don't really feel like we're back in seaside or anything)

As for the BWV, the rooms are really nice and are clean. They have an arcade and a pool with a slide (that i love personally) They also have a little building next to one of the pools that has stuff for kids like popcorn, movies to rent, arts and crafts (i think), air hockey, and pool toys to rent, so you don't have to worry about your son having nothing to do.

We really enjoyed our stay there and can't wait to go back. You will not be disappointed. Have fun!!!!

I am an owner at BWV, but I love WLV. You won't be sorry that you tried BWV it is an outstanding resort. There is a lot to see and do there. I wouldn't pay any attention to any complaints that some people make about BWV. No matter how hard you try you can't please everyone.

I think it is good to try other resorts within the Vacation Club. All the resorts are spectacular in their own way. Again be happy that you got in at BWV. You will have a great time.

Belle...don't worry, you'll love BWV.

We were in the same boat as you, though our children are older. We own at VWL and last year decided to try BWV. We booked a preferred view room at the 7 month window, and upon checking in were assigned a wonderful room overlooking the quiet pool, Community Hall and the canal (with Tower of Terror in the near distance).

Did we enjoy it?

We bought a BWV resale a few months after we got home! I guess that answers that question! :p

Your 2 year old will have a wonderful time no matter where you stay. Just watch out for sensory overload if you're walking around on the Boardwalk...it can get quite active with all the things going on!

I don't know if there's a play area per se, since we didn't look for one. But the main pool is large and very nice, and you will enjoy the easy trip back to the resort with a 2 year old after going to Epcot or MGM!

Don't worry....you'll have a wonderful trip, and see a side of WDW you've never seen before! After VWL, you will think you're in another destination altogether!

You will have absolutely no regrets if you are ready for a great atmosphere and a relaxing vacation. We like the preferred view over the quiet pool. You get the sunset at night. It is also very quiet. I have a teenager so am not familiar with places for younger children to play. I am jealous -- have a great time.:smooth:

I recall that there is a little playground (with a little house, slide, etc) right behind the wading pool at the Luna Park pool at BWV.

Your 2 yr old will love the spraying elephants -- mine did!

What? Negative posts? No way.... Now there has been a lot of discussion about the change in the room categories at BWV, but I don't recall seeing many negative posts about the resort. This is world class resort. One of WDW's best.

Relax and enjoy! :p

Another BW fan chiming in.

I think that each resort has wonderful qualities and BW is no exception. I agree with all the other prior posters and I'm sure many more to come.

There is a nice kiddie pool at the main pool and it seemed very well themed.

Also, you can take the boat or walk over to the Y&B club and rent a watermouse or covered boat and have a nice cruise on the canal.

You will love the proximity to Epcot and MGM for making a trip back to the resort to nap and refresh.

And regarding the rooms - I think - like other resorts the "bad" rooms (I use that term very loosely) are a) not in the majority and b) subject to personal preferences. Plus - every resort has the less-than-ideal situations. Personally, I would not want to stay in a room looking at the woods - but that is a personal preference - it is great and the only way to go for many.

If you prefer more to the quiet side, request the quiet pool if there is a room open there and if you don't mind the activity (not real noisy) then try the main pool.

Have a great trip and never look back. You made a great decision to try other resorts.

When it comes to WDW's crown jewel resorts......BWV is definitely one of the very, very top contenders, nuff said!
Have a wonderful trip! You will love BWV, it is a fantastic resort!!

I own at VWL and have stayed at BWV 3 times. Why, Location ( ease of access to the parks), and the beauty of the BW. I think your child will love the pool area. He will probably have fun if you take him to the BW to watch the "street action". I have had a room overlooking the main pool with a beautiful view of the Swan and Dolphin hotels before.( I also had the same area but ground floor that was very conveinent to the pool.)

We recently returned from a great trip at the BWV. The only problem is BWV tends to alter your careful daily planning. We found ourself not going to the theme/water parks as much and spending more time at the resort itself.

The resort really comes to life at sunset and the room remained quiet through out the evening. Check out the Inn side, quiet pool and community hall, Have a great trip.

We had one of our loveliest Disney days at the BWV this summer. Friends from home checked in and we joined them for the day (we were stayinga t OKW). My son loved the pool and especially the slide. I did see lots of younger kids (like your little guy) enjoying the kiddie pool. We had PB&J sandwiches for lunch (part of a $4 kids meal, a great bargain!) and my daughter (9) went to the community building with our friends' son. They had a ball playing pingpong and Pokemon video games. I was very impressed overall and someday hope to stay at this resort. It seems like it will become even more appealing as my children get a little older.

Have fun!

We are in the process of buying points at the Boardwalk after several stays there. It is my very favorite resort at WDW and am beyond excited about becoming an owner. During one of my stays I had one of those many magical moments that happen while at Disney. We were at the pool ( which I actually like better than SAB) and there was a very little guy, maybe 2 1/2 years old, all suited up with his life jacket, walking up the stairs and going down the slide. His Mom was so cool, waiting each time he came down in case she was needed but he did fine. He did this for Hours!!....we could not help but marvel at him...his little legs could barely get him up the stairs. Well we left to get some food out on the Boardwalk and came back after this had been going on for quite some time and saw Mom pushing a stroller with the "little guy" all stretched out sound asleep. You know he had a great day at the Boardwalk!!! I honestly don't know how anyone would not love it!!

I bought into the DVC in 1999. My wife and I thought it was a great idea and very flexible when it comes to where you would like to go. Well we have been to florida 6 times since and always stay at the BW. The family just has a tremedous time and is probably one of the US's best. Stay and you will decide...

Think of you and your famliy hopping on an air conditioned boat to ride over to MGM studios to see "Little Mermaid", The Disney playhouse with Bear and the Big Blue Hours, and Rolly Polly, taking a break in the middle of the day for the 2 year olds nap, and then heading back out to see Fantasmic in the evening. You'll have a wonderful time at BWV. The proximity to Epcot and MGM is wonderful, pool is great, services first class. If your little one would like to play on the sand beach, you can go right across the river and play on the beach club beach. Then head into Beaches and Cream and order a "kitchen sink." DVC is first class, and BWV is still a resort with all the amenities WLV has you may like including room service, etc. Have fun.
