We are hoping to fly in for our cruise on a red-eye Thursday night and stay in Cocoa Beach(Hampton Inn I hope with Hilton points) Friday night before the cruise on Sat morning. Alot of the departing flights on the Sat after the cruise leave either early making it a nailbiter to make it after leaving the ship, or they leave at around 6:00pm meaning we would have all day to wait with our luggage so I'm thinking that wouldn't it be nice to have one more day in Florida and fly out on Sunday?! Since it is a all day trip to get there we might as well squeeze in more fun since we are already there. So my question is if we want to do MGM for a day or maybe Downtown Disney where is a good place to stay? We will be a group of 5 and I would prefer to be in one room. It wold be nice to stay within walking distance of Downtown Disney so we would not have to drive, maybe a hotel that allows us to use Disney transportation. Boy for a simple question I sure make it long winded!:p

We stayed an extra night at the beginning of the trip by using the cruise special at the Dolphin. At that time it was $99 per night, and you had to book it through the TA you used. It may be more. I'd also look to see if Mouseavers has any codes available to the time when you're going. Also talk to DU or get a quote from the main wdwinfo page for reduced rates--they often have cheaper rates for DTD hotels.

We always stay the extra day after the 7 day and go home Sunday! (Same with the 3 and 4 for that matter.) It is always such a let-down to go straight to the airport or hit the road. As you disembark so early, it is practically an entire day at the parks. For December especially, we love going back and taking in the Christmas decorations at the parks such as the Osborn lights, Main Street, the fountain at Epcot, etc. We then have breakfast at Boma and it makes leaving a much less sorrowful sweet departure!

The only real downside is craving a Mickey Ice Cream bar and having to cough up the $45 to buy one. . .(o.k., they aren’t that expensive, but after room service brining them free all week, it sure seems like it!)

Depending on the time of year, you can often get a good deal at one of the resorts. If not, the hotels surrounding WDW are all in need of guests as the business has never fully recovered. Check the budget board or on-line for a good rate.

Either way, definitely stay in the Fantasy just one more day!

We are also staying an extra night after our trip. Take a peek at the All Star's. We got an amazing rate!! Good luck and happy sailing!!!
