Previously I've been finding stateroom door decorations on Etsy, but after my last cruise on the Wish, I see there are some very creative people with really great ideas.
So for those of you who decorate your stateroom door: where do you find your decorations? Online? Craft store? Party store? Dollar store? I feel like I'm not considering some avenues.

I make my own magnets. I print out images on photo paper and use adhesive magnet paper to back them.

I have tried making my own magnets, but I have not been impressed. I did order a magnet from Shutterfly, and I'm hopeful that it turns out well. I think a lot of people laminate and then stick magnets on stuff, which seems like it might work better.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if people were printing things at home or finding decor at other stores, using some laminating sheets to cover it and then put a magnet on.

I just ordered some customizable magnets from an Etsy seller called BluelineWW. They had tons of characters to choose from and your name is in the Disney font. Smaller 2 or 3 inch ones and also 6 or 9 inch ones. Sturdy print and magnet backing. My husband and I independently selected Evil witch (me) and the poison apple (DH) so I got Snow White for my little. :)

I did order some other magnets (from a different seller) to go around the room number but that seller just laminated a print out and put stuck on a couple of thin magnets. Not as sturdy as the ones from the seller above. But—this made me realize you could probably easily print and make your own magnetic decorations.

There are groups on FB where they share their magnet designs. I printed a number of these, laminated them and then added adhesive magnets purchased via Amazon on the back.

I’ve stopped creating date specific magnets so I can reuse them on future cruises.

I make my own magnets. As the previous poster mentioned, there are groups on FB that offer designs. I print, laminate and attach the magnets I purchase from amazon. I also have stopped putting dates on mine, except for maybe one cruise specific. I also recycle and reuse them. It is pretty easy.

I’m obsessed with Grayson Tags & More on Etsy and nearly everything we have is from there. I love seeing how people decorate - lights and other creative things - especially for the themed cruises! Such fun! I am lazy and like things simple - so Etsy is where I go! I’d imagine you could find all sorts of stuff at a Michael’s/Hobby Lobby/other store in that vein. I just lack the creativity to conjure up my own ideas!

I've ordered from them for fish extender gifts, as well as CruisedesignsBB.
My door decorations are from nickandjojo. cute designs and I like their stuff. :thumbsup2

Yes! We ordered some magnets from Grayson Tags & More as well. Love their shop!

i made all of mine except the one that went around the circle door number. i ordered that one from etsy
oh and a friend gifted me some perler bead designs she made and i glued magnets on their backs.

but, i went to hobby lobby walmart and dollar tree and raided the scrab book section and invested in good card stock. i made a list of what kind of magents I wanted, and what message I wanted to convey (mother son, our names, my recent college graduation, our first cruise, ect) and i cut out shapes of characters and would use three d scrap book stickers and then laminated everything with a magnet on the back.

I make my own here's a photo of me with my decorated door. Draw a picture and colour it in on paper the use a scanner and scan a copy of my drawing and print it out them laminate it and them get a magnet stick super glue to the back of the picture and stick the magnet together. All you need them is the magic words after that Bibbidi bobbidi boo them you've made your own magnets.

I’ve but from a few sellers on Etsy, most recently dekoradoor. i understand budgets vary, but I prefer images to be printed directly on magnetic paper over magnetic strips and stickers pasted on magnets. I also try to find sellers who have machines cut magnets.

There is a free DCL magnet image sharing group on a common social media outlet, if you want to print out your own.

I’ve started to go ‘over the top’ and make really large light up magnets 😂

Need to start creating my July cruise one.. it’s going to be big & sparkly!

Making your own is a great project for kids and helps them get invested in the upcoming trip.
We recycle those magnets businesses send and give away. The ad peels off easily after soaking in water. The magnets can be cut to fit. Then glue your pictures on.
So quit throwing those magnetic advertisements away...recycle

Here's ours from our last cruise, we printed everything on photo paper and then laminated them and stuck peel and stick magnets to the backs of them.
