Hi, We are going on our first cruise with DCL. Im going through the cabin reports, what a great tool! What I'm trying to figure out is the difference between the staterooms. There is category 11a, 11b, 11c. I se what 11 is but whats the difference in the letters? Thanks!

Letters are the general area of the ship...with a being (theoretically) most desirable.

Thanks!! Im glad the stateroom reports there posted. Seems to be alot of different opinions about certain rooms!

Primarily location. On the classic ships, there is no difference (an 11 is an 11). They were given the ABC designations when the Dream was launched so the categories would be consistent across the line. On the new ships, the ABCDEs can designate differences in cabins (slightly larger, super sized balcony, etc) as well as location.

Thanks! Weve cruised half a dozen times, never on DCL but we are the type we dont fret over the room much because we dont spend a whole lot of time there. One does want to be able to sleep and Ive read some posts about bad odors but other than that the worst cabin on the ship is better than the best day at work! The reports are a great thing to have access to, Along with all of you out there who can answer direct questions! Thanks again!!!
