Starting to panic over airline tickets

I have all reservations complete for our next trip to WDW from Minnesota at the end of February, but I have not purchased airline tickets yet - I've been watching online for months, waiting for prices to go below $300, with no luck. I know I did this a bit backwards this time, I should have checked this before locking in my dates, but then again the kids' time off school is not flexible.

How late should I wait? I'm afraid if I wait too much longer the prices will go up even higher?

It is important that you're very flexible with your flight arrangements, in order to get the best price. You may even find it less expensive to leave the night before you were planning to, and paying the extra money for one night at a motel on the strip.

As it is, there are flights available right now for the last week of February, from Minneapolis to Orlando, for $238 per person. They are late afternoon outbound flights, and mid-morning homebound flights, which isn't ideal, but that's where the discounted availability is right now. It is getting a bit late, and there isn't much reason for prices to go down substantially, and several reasons why they may go up.

If you are going during a school break in your area assume lots of other families will also be attempting to get out of the Minnesota winters.

Assuming your vaction corresponds with the school break dates, I would book very soon!

I wouldn't wait any longer. Try searching google for itasoftware. Its a travel online program that searchs every airlines direct computer system for lowest fare. You cant book it, but you find it there then you can call airline or go to airlines site. Orbitz is nice to search all airlines, but this searches airlines directly which i think is better booking direct because sometimes orbitz adds fees and also you have to really go through orbitz or whoever for any changes, cancellation. Wouldnt wait any longer thouhg.

Do you buy the St Paul Winter Carnival Button? The last two years, Sun Country has offered a buy 2 get your third for free code in it. I did not get mine this year, so I don't know if it is in there this year.

Also, code has a promo going on where you can win a free SC ticket or 10% off a SC ticket. I have one 10% cap now....

I wouldn't wait much longer either. Maybe just until after Christmas because they currrently have a buy one get one free deal happening. You had to email them for the code.. the info is on their site, but it ends 12/20. Their prices may come down a bit after then.

Keep an eye on travelocity or one of the search engines and buy when you see a price you can live with. It sounds like you are locked in to a certain date for travel since you have all of your other reservations......

Have a good one.
