Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

remember Star Trek where Captain Kirk had to lie on his back and use that elliptical that was just two blocks stuck in the wall? too bad it's the wrong franchise. I don't recall anyone from Star Wars doing exercising unless jogging through Dagobah counts

Remember , YOU'RE IN SPACE
Look, as a highly trained Jedi Knight, I need to do my daily yoga.

In all seriousness, I actually do yoga every single day. Every. Single. Day. No exceptions. I have reviewed some of the early pictures of the rooms on SC. They look small. If that makes me a hater, then Amen. If there isn't room for me to do yoga in the room comfortably and if there isn't any room to do yoga in a fitness center, then the whole SC experience isn't going to work for me.

God bless the folks that are lining up to do this. I'm super happy for them. I've said it before and I will say it again. I guess I'm a bad Star Wars fan.

I have been to every theatrical release on opening weekend (even the 1977 when I was a baby according to my mother) and this includes that horrible animated Clone Wars movie (although I loved the TV series). I have been to every theatrical re-release including Episode 1 in 3D, in 2012. I have watched Star Wars TV series and read Star Wars books.

Yet, this whole SC adventure thing looks bad. It's not my way of vacationing to be part of a murder-mystery weekend party type adventure with hundreds of people I don't know and I am largely confined by an itinerary I didn't create but rather Disney created for me.

And, lastly, for all those folks who are headed to SC, I genuinely hope you all have a great time and get every pennies worth for your vacation. I sincerely mean that.

Hey now, that Clone Wars movie gave us Ahsoka Tano. I’m not ashamed to say I’m quite fond of it and took my kids to it on opening day then again a few days later. The rest of your statement aligns with my thoughts exactly. I’ve been to cons and Star Wars Celebration, and my kids are well-versed enough to have won a trivia contest at a con when they were in 6th and 8th grade against teams much older than they. I’m pretty geeky SW. I hope this is a win and it turns out to be everything they say it’s going to be and more, but I can’t bring myself to be enclosed in fake space.

Where is everyone? Busy sewing costumes? ;)
On a more serious note: has anyone had issues with their datapad on the Play Disney app? My daughter is accessing the datapad on an iPod touch and made the mistake of engaging with the first "comm". This has now caused the datapad to go haywire and into permanent loading status. We've deleted and reloaded the app several times to no avail. A lovely tech person said they are aware of the issue and are working to push out an app update to address it and other problems this month. Just wondered if anyone is having similar datapad issues.

Hi- we had a somewhat similar issue where the big loading circles just went on forever, but deleting the app and reinstalling took care of that. Good luck with the issue and I hope the refresh happens soon!

So we got our on-board activities scheduled, and I have to say I'm very bummed. They scheduled our bridge training for 9-9:45pm. I didn't expect for them to schedule something so late given my kids are so young. I asked them to switch, but since everyone else is also scheduled for bridge training, there is nothing they can do about it.

The CM told me our slot was assigned by a computer, taking into account all of our other activities. It did not take into account the ages of our party, though.

I can call back every day to see if someone moved their bridge training, which seems futile. If I can't move mine, how can another party move theirs?!

Look, I admit this is not a huge deal, but I needed to let it out so thanks for listening. And if you're onboard for the 3/13 cruise and prefer a late night tour of the bridge, let's talk! :-)

Get what you are saying but it seems unreasonable for Disney to take into consideration everything when scheduling. For everyone complaining about being late, someone will hate being early. Fireworks and shows are late. Often times, the only good dinner option is late. Its Disney, let them stay up!

I have late dinner so my lightsaber and bridge are both during dinner service one, but it is on the March 1 voyage.

Today my Parks app also updated with a specific Batuu excursion departure time on Day 2 and a specific disembark time for Day 3.

As I get closer to the trip, I have come up with my ideal dinner show thought though. While I realize Gaya is an intergalactic superstar, I am hoping for a Styx cover band made up of original trilogy characters. If you want an idea of the possibilities there, look up the Styx video for "Too Much Time On My Hands" and imagine Luke Skywalker as the lead singer and fill in the blanks for the rest of the performers. It even takes place in a cantina for parts of the video. I guess I have too much time on my hands, but in the best of times that what a Renegade thinks as it is almost time to Come Sail Away with a droid named Mr. Roboto.

Note: If you don't enjoy cheesy 80's stuff, do not look up that song or video

Hmm… a survey. :scratchin
My survey link said it was closed already. I tried to open it a minute after receiving it in the inbox. I replied to the email that I would love to give feedback, but the survey was already closed. I received an auto-reply that my email was received.
