Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

I got it. Ridiculously long survey, did some questions and bailed. There was some questions specifically target to Starcruiser including planning costumes and how involved you want to be.

"In Space..... no one can hear you survey."

(Interesting about the survey theme. I wonder why the playtesting isn't giving them more information about that. Of course, if one is Planning to Buy Costumes through the DisneyStore, but can't.... then that's feedback that would be helpful to know. In fact, only the April cruisers get the full 90 days to purchase through the Disney store. Not only can the March cruisers NOT buy the costumes, because of size unavailability, but March voyages only have about 60 days to be able to purchase at all! (Eligibility stated: 60 days prior to voyage and 30 days after. Product wasn't released until February.) It would be nice to give March voyages 60 days post voyage to make up for the lack of product AND time eligible to purchase. :)

I took the survey. It wasn’t that long, only took a few minutes. Felt like they’re gathering data to profile the average Halcyon visitor and how participatory those guests plan to be.

Questions included asking some demographic questions about my party, if we were pairing the Starcruiser with a longer stay in Orlando, if we’re staying at WDW and details (hotel, length of stay, locations planning to visit). And their typical “How many times have you visited WDW?” “Are you a Disney+ subscriber?” questions.

Starcruiser specific questions included if the Halcyon was our primary reason for the trip, how we planned to arrive (eg. Disney transportation or personal vehicle), how much we planned to participate in the storyline/adventure, if we planned to dress up, and ranking each party member as a Star Wars fan on a scale of 1-10.

(edited for repetition)

Yeah, interesting survey, although pretty typical Disney info gathering if you ask me. Nothing particularly earth shattering.

Always hate the “how many times have you been to WDW” question.

I like the ‘level of certainty regarding your travels’ question. Unfortunately “Of course I’m coming, you have a lot of my money” wasn’t an option. 🙃

While I realize Gaya is an intergalactic superstar, I am hoping for a Styx cover band made up of original trilogy characters. If you want an idea of the possibilities there, look up the Styx video for "Too Much Time On My Hands" and imagine Luke Skywalker as the lead singer and fill in the blanks for the rest of the performers. It even takes place in a cantina for parts of the video. I guess I have too much time on my hands, but in the best of times that what a Renegade thinks as it is almost time to Come Sail Away with a droid named Mr. Roboto.

:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Look, if we can have Kristoff and Sven (and other reindeer) serenading us in Chicago/Peter Cetera fashion in "Frozen 2," anything is possible!

Gizmodo: Han and Leia went to Disney World on their honeymoon

Apparently, an upcoming book about their marriage will reportedly share that Han and Leia honeymooned on the Halcyon Starcruiser. My initial reaction is to giggle because it seems so silly, but hey, what do I know?

I'm still anxiously awaiting real reviews of the GS experience. I hope it's going to be great. Initially, I was excited about it, but my interest has waned a little as the details have come out. We'll find out soon enough, though! :)

Can Leia still afford the big suite even though her planet got blown up? I get the impression her adoptive parents were rolling in the dough.

Wookieepedia says their son Ben was born on Chandrila. It's the Chandrilan star line. Maybe they were taking a ferry

Oh snap, the Halcyon is with the Chandrilan star line. Well, dang. Now the tie-in feels more organic. Now I'm gonna spend my evening reading up on Wookieepedia. :D

Does anybody know why they are locking merchandise behind a 60 day before your voyage wall? My wife and I are traveling in late April… most everything is already sold out :sad2: do they usually restock?

Probably so they have a chance to restock without everything getting sold out immediately. I’ve been stalking the adult Princess Leia dress myself and the first day it launched, only sizes XS and L were available. Then S and M sizes showed available recently, so it does seem like they do restock. Currently sizes XS, S, M, and L are still available.

This is great news, thanks. I was looking at the Saber training tunic; long gone except for the XXS. Guess I’ll keep my eye on it once we get to our window!

So we got our on-board activities scheduled, and I have to say I'm very bummed. They scheduled our bridge training for 9-9:45pm. I didn't expect for them to schedule something so late given my kids are so young. I asked them to switch, but since everyone else is also scheduled for bridge training, there is nothing they can do about it.

The CM told me our slot was assigned by a computer, taking into account all of our other activities. It did not take into account the ages of our party, though.

I can call back every day to see if someone moved their bridge training, which seems futile. If I can't move mine, how can another party move theirs?!

Look, I admit this is not a huge deal, but I needed to let it out so thanks for listening. And if you're onboard for the 3/13 cruise and prefer a late night tour of the bridge, let's talk! :-)

Update- if you call the (407) 939-1800 number, the CM you speak with can now access your schedules directly. Previously, they had to reach out to another group while you were on hold. Nothing has opened up for us on the bridge training, but at least the call is shorter when I call to check. It's the little things, you know?
