Standing by for Illuminations cruise

Since the hour is late for our DD2 we want to see how the day is going before deciding to put her on a boat with others to watch fireworks which is why we didn't actually try and make arrangements for a cruise. If we do think it is a good idea what time do you suggest we start loitering around the dock at BW to see if there happen to be spaces that people would like to fill?

Interesting approach! We had room for 2 more and I think they would have let us have 2 plus a toddler, but it was sooo cold, no one was mulling around! I would be there around 7:15 or so. The cruises usually leave the docks around 8:00 or 8:15. I have heard tell of people not showing up at all and the boat captains actually recruiting people, so you might get lucky! Good luck!

IllumiNations is ALWAYS 9pm, and during the Christmas Holiday's 9:30pm.
Arrive around 8pm, most boats start to depart at 8:15pm.
Sometimes small party's are unaware of the size of the boat and would be more than willing to share a cruise.
Speak to any driver you see and don't be afraid to approach and ask.

The drivers prefer that all guests check in and depart from Bayside Marine. At the BoardWalk Dock, there is not "specific" place for a pontoon to park where it is not in the potential way of a Friendship Boat, there is no cash register to ring up and charge the cruise and there is no life-jackets for all those under 12.
It is much easier to have all 6 boats depart from Bayside Marina, it is only right across the lake from the BoardWalk Dock. But, as far as drop off after the presentation, the driver can drop you off at ANY OPEN dock (Bayside Marina, BoardWalk, Swan/Dolphin or MGM Studios).

When we booked it, they told us where they would pick us up (we were staying at the BWI); we didn't request it.
