Good Morning Y'all!
So just wanted to post quickly (yea, right, that never happnes! lol!) to let everyone know that today I weighed in. I don't think I normally write to much about my weight--mostly my training... But.. My top weight when I decided to finally get disciplined and do something about it was 206lbs.

I am a short 5'1 and 1/2... Don't forget the 1/2!

When I decided to start journaling, I was down to about 200lbs. Now, If I were 6 feet tall, like DH, 200lbs might not be so bad, but for us short folks, there just no where for it to go! My goal has been to lose 1lb per week. The last few weeks, I've been at a plateau--LTO! I've not gained, but I've not lost either. I had written before that since I've set the goal to complte the 5K in January and started training for that, the weight issue has not been foremost in my mind--the training has. I still feel that way, but I still want to lose at least 1lb per week. As I start running more in the training, I know that SHOULD happen if I can control what goes in my mouth!
So...all of that, just to say I am down a total of 13lbs!!! This past weekend we went shopping. I have not bought clothes for myself in over a year--too depressing! But, I walked in a store called NY & Co. I LOVE their clothes. At my top weight, I couldn't wear anything in the store. This weekend, I spent over 100 bucks!

I bought new pants and new tops. I'm a little heavier up top so the fact that I could actually wear some of the tops is just thrilling!
I've been trying to not get too overly excited because I still have a long way to go. For me though, this is small milestone in my ultimate goal. To be able to shop for clothes I like, in store I like and not be forced to buy something because it's what fits. Granted, I have clothes I like that look nice, but they have been pretty plain and not too sylish. I'm not the most fashion forward person, but I'm just happy I can now buy some things I like on the rack and on me.
On the training end of things... Yesterday after work, Matt and I did the trail around the lake here in Cary. I looked it up online--mapmyrun.com or something like that. Others had already mapped it and it looks to be about 1.2/1.3 miles. I am also happy to report that I successfully completed the Week 4 workout. I did manage the last 5 min run!

At the end of the 30 min, we were about 1/2 way around the lake so we had to keep walking to get back to the car. It was almost like I got my second wind (after I caught my breath). I started walking a little faster, a little faster and even Matt made mention that I walking pretty fast because he was having to walk fast to keep up w/ me! We reached the car and I stretched out, but I was feeling soooo good! I could have just kept on walking! Normally, I'm not a fast-paced walker. I'd rather slow jog. So this was a bit suprising. It felt good though. Like it's been mentioned before, each workout seems to have a mind of it's own. This was a good one for me. I so needed this! The last few had been such bummers! I know I will have more that are bummers too, but I will draw from the wisdom of others out here knowing you have good days and bad days, good workouts and bad ones. This just helps prove to me that I can have a good workout--finally!
Thanks to all of you guys for consistenty posting and offering your care, concern, suggestions and time--we all know it takes time to read journals and post to others. As Scott said, it's not the time spent...it's how you spend the time. So thank you for spending some of your time on taking an interest in someone you don't even know.

This board is a great source of encouragement for me as I know it is for all of you--otherwise you wouldn't be here!
Hope everyone has a great day!!!
Stacie
