We are headed to the eastern Caribbean in April and looking for easy to do days at both. We will have 2 kids under 5 and 2 under 13 and 4 adults. We are basically looking at just doing a simple beach day and/or resort type day but are trying to avoid the large prices that come with booking from the actual cruise site.

Have seen some things on the shoreexcursions group site to different beaches but wanted to ask some of the experts here who have been to the eastern islands before and see if its possible to just get off the boat and walk to a beach and rent some chairs or is it worth booking with a specific group. We want to spend a decent part of the day hanging out at the beach and a hour or two shopping.

Thanks everybody!

St. Maarten you can walk to the beach or take the water taxi over to the main beach, which is in direct view of the ships. Lots of chairs and umbrellas for rent and close to the main tourist shopping district.

St. Thomas I think you'll need to take a taxi to get to any beaches. I'll be headed there in August 2020 but I haven't started researching this yet.
