My family and I are hoping someone can recommend a family friendly resort located in St. Petersburg. We are going to Disney in November and would like to take our 3 year old to see the beach. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. :flower:

We just returned from St. Pete on Saturday. We stayed at the Tradewinds Island Grand and liked it a great deal! It wasn't exactly cheap, but it was fun for kids. They also have a resort that's a little less expensive called the Sandpiper. They are in the process of renovating the guest rooms, so if you can get a new one, it would be great! I would recommend The Alden...we have stayed there once and our friends went on our suggestion a couple of years ago, and they are going again this November! It is a family friendly place! Check out their website... www.aldenbeachresort.com

Another vote for Tradewinds. Stayed there 10 years ago (without kids), but it's still a very kid-friendly hotel.

We were in SPB the first weekend of March. We stayed in the Breckenridge bldg at Tradewinds Island Grand. Call for a rate quote and ask them if they have an Entertainment Book discount available. Our original rate was $259 and our Ent rate was $179. We really loved this place. We were on the top floor and every morning we looked out our big picture window and saw pods of dolphins swim by. We checked out (online) a lot of resorts in this area and this was the best one. My DH was floored by this place when we pulled in. It truly is a 4 star resort. Lots, I mean lots, of activities for the kids. When we checked in our room was not ready, but assigned. She took my cell phone # and said someone would call when it was ready. We left and went down to the St. Pete Pier (about 15 min away) and sure enough someone called a few hours later. We would definately stay there again. Very nice place.

We went to Tradewinds last year in July. It was beautiful and lots of activities for kids! A couple of different pools and resteraunts on site. Great Tropical drinks too!

if you check the link on my signature...it's vacation pics from TW last year!
