St Pete Beach or Clearwater beach help?

If you could choose the gulf side at St. Pete or Daytona which would you do? This is coming from someone who has not been to Florida before.

Gulf side... hands down... no question!

Have not been to St. Pete/Clearwater beaches, but we like the Madiera Beach area. Stayed at Madiera Norte Condos- nothing spectacluar, but the price was good and we spent all our time at the beach anyway. Nice restaurants/shops just across the way at John's Pass. Now, this was several years ago so things may have changed.

Do you want quiet or not so quiet? Do you want waves or slight waves? Quiet and slight waves then go to the gulf.

My family rather go to the gulf for a nice family vacation.

I would go to the Gulf every time. The Sirata Beach hotel is gorgeous.

Here's some piccies !

Living in Tampa (I'm familiar with both beaches). I highly recommend Ft. Desoto Beach in St. Pete.

We just got back from visiting Disney and went to the beach....thanks so much for the idea of visiting Ft. De Soto Beach. We loved it!!!! :goodvibes It was so beautiful, clean and un-busy and un-touristy!!!!!!! The facilities and the beach were very clean and we practically had the entire beach to ourselves! We found neat shells, tons of sand dollars and 2 huge conch that were still alive! :rotfl:

Thanks so much for reporting back on the Fort DeSoto beach!!!! Can you tell me how long it took from your Windsor Hills Condo to get there???

So excited! :)
