But I'm asking you all to keep your fingers crossed. The school where the boys went to high school is looking for an English teacher...and they want a male teacher. One of the assistant wrestling coaches is an English teacher and he emailed me this morning so that I could contact Andy and have him personally go over there today with his resume. Both the wrestling coach and the baseball coach (who was Andy's coach when he played at the high school) have already talked to the principal about Andy and their desire that he be hired (the baseball coach would love to have Andy as his assistant). So we are hoping that he might be hired for the job. :goodvibes

Every single thing on my body that can be crossed is crossed...except my eyes as I get a headache when I do that :upsidedow

I hope Andy gets it...he would be amazing and the school would be so lucky to have him!

And BTW...is it April 7 yet??????

Defo send us a schedule and we'll have a look over ours, will be so much fun to meet up :)

I absolutely will! We would love to meet you guys too!

im sure he will get it.
:thumbsup2

sports have a big pull in schools.
:banana:

Thanks, Dan. I'm thinking with three coaches all putting in a word for him, his chances might be a little better. The only drawback I see is his inexperience in teaching....but you have to start somewhere, right?

You are such a good friend. Please don't get a headache on Andy's account...I give you enough of those with my phone calls and text messages. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Not quite yet...but three weeks from tomorrow it will be (and two weeks from Saturday I'll be in FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm looking into Yak and Yeti for lunch one day. Would you say that the service there is generally pretty fast? My boys do best in restaurants when they don't have to wait too long.

Good luck to Andy! I'm sure the school would be lucky to get him. :)

:banana::banana: :banana::banana: :banana::banana: :banana::banana: :banana::banana:

I wanna go back too.... :sad::sad: :sad::sad:

Um...excuse me...weren't you there like three times in the last nine months or something????

I know what I'll be doing on my September trip...I'll be buying something cute for a new baby boy. :goodvibes And, of course, THE Princess.

Kate, we were there shortly after it first opened and there were four of us. We had NO problem with service at all...I want to say we were in and out in an hour (we took our desserts to go because we were stuffed). I remember our waitress had our table as well as two tables right by us that had 8 people each at them and she was spectacular. I even commented that the little boy at the table next to us got a "mickey plate" and I wanted one; she overheard me and brought me one on her next go round. :)

No we weren't! :sad2:

Maybe 3 times in the last year though. ;)

Awwwww... you know you don't have to do that. :)

I know I don't have to. But I do for the Princess and will now do for the Prince. Sorry, you as pauper, are left out. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Kathy, it almost sounds like Andy is a shoe-in.. I really hope this comes through for him!! :yay:

So, we've arrived in Naples the evening of Wednesday, April 6, and will check into the LaQuinta.

I've not talked to Nicki yet because I'm unsure of Mark's appointment on Thursday morning in Ft. Myers, but I'm hoping we'll meet at Starbucks before we have to go to his appointment. That evening (Thursday), we are having dinner with Nicki and Todd.

On Friday, Nicki is taking the day off from work and we are going to Starbucks, shopping, Starbucks, lunch, Starbucks, etc. You don't think we like Starbucks too much, do you? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: We will again have dinner with Nicki and Todd. Mark will have the day to himself to hang out by the pool.

On Saturday, Mark and I will hang at the pool all day and then guess what we're doing. If you guessed having dinner with Nicki and Todd, you are correct. :goodvibes

I know we are going to the Japanese Steakhouse like we did last year (Da Ma Ru) and then we are going to two fish places the other nights (Nicki will have to tell you the names because I already forgot).

Sunday morning will come way too fast and we have a 6 a.m. flight back home which gives me some time to catch up on laundry and take a nap because it will be back to work on Monday.

I promise LOTS and LOTS of pictures as Mark and I travel around Florida and, of course, when we are with Nicki and Todd.

Kathy, First of all good luck to your son. Teaching is such a wonderful profession. I do hope he gets the job. Now to your time in Naples with Nickie I am so looking forward to hearing about all your adventures those three days. Naples is one of my favorite towns in Southwest Florida. Have you and Mark ever visited Sanibel Island just off the coast of Ft. Meyers? It is like paradise and I need a fix every year! Please take lots of pictures as it is so fun to follow along. Thanks!! Elaine

Kathy, actually that may very well be a big PLUS for him. Many districts like to hire newly graduated teachers...they're cheaper and bring new ideas in.

Totally agree... :sad1:

I know you are going to enjoy your trip so much! It sounds like it will be fairly relaxing for you. And that's awesome that you're getting all that quality time in with Nicki. :woohoo:

Oooh, your plans look great!! And honey, you can NEVER go to Starbucks too much! It isn't possible! I know this firsthand.:thumbsup2

Wow, look at all those dinners with Nicki!:woohoo: Yes, you'd better take pictures, lots of them!:goodvibes

When will you hear about Andy??

Sounds like its going to be a wonderful break, lots of great food, meeting with great friends oh and lots of Starbucks.

I don't think you can love Starbucks too much, I am totally there with you. If I could have it everyday I would, but alas the nearest one to me is like a 30min walk which wouldn't be too bad if it didn't take an hour to and from work :laughing:

Hey Kathy! Just stopped by for a quick hello!! Hope you have a wonderful day today!!! :hug:

Hi, Elaine. I have to say both of my sons want to be teachers and give back for what they were given throughout their schooling and with coaching. I am so proud of both of them as they have been coaching since out of high school!

We have never been to Sanibel Island; we will have to look into that for a future visit. I promise lots of pictures; Andy is even letting me use his new camera which takes better pictures than mine.

Kathy, actually that may very well be a big PLUS for him. Many districts like to hire newly graduated teachers...they're cheaper and bring new ideas in.

I'm hopeful. He can't get any experience if he is not hired. I read the recommendation letter that the head baseball coach wrote on his behalf and it made me very proud of him (maybe I'll try to scan it and post it for all of you to see).

Just being in Florida will be great; but having three days with Nicki just makes it perfect!

Go Andy! WOOT WOOT! :woohoo:

Thanks, MaryEllen. I hope he gets it.

I have an idea ..Why don't you and Nicki try Starbucks I think you'd like it !!!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Good suggestion, Rosie.

Great idea!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao: :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:laughing::laughing: Tim. Maybe you should put that effort you showed in that post to doing an update on your TR! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Molly, I totally agree with you. People would be shocked if they knew how many times a day I go to Starbucks (and in working in Downtown Chicago and having one every block, it is so easy to do).

Yes, three nights in a row of eating with the Food Porn Queen and her hubby.

Andy won't know anything for a couple of weeks.

Sounds like its going to be a wonderful break, lots of great food, meeting with great friends oh and lots of Starbucks.

Stefy, come work in Chicago...you'll find one every block.

Hey Kathy! Just stopped by for a quick hello!! Hope you have a wonderful day today!!! :hug:

Marv, I miss you dear friend. I hope you can get back to serious DISsing soon. :hug:
