Just got back from our vacation, staying at BWV. We went over to our home resort this past Wednesday evening after dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. The last time (and only time) that I stayed at SSR was right when it opened, and only a few buildings in Congress Park were available. There was a lot of construction going on at the time. It has grown so much.

The resort is beautiful. We walked around and it looks fabulous. It is very big, but the layout is so pretty. I know it is popular to bash SSR, and maybe I am a bit partial to it because it is our home resort, but I loved it.

Being close to DD is great for evenings (dining, walking around, shopping), having the golf course. And - we rent a car, so not relying on Disney Transportation helps. It is no problem driving to the parks.

Nice to hear as I am considering trying to stay a few days there on next trip to check it out. I just have to convince dh and ds that there are def. other resorts than BCV (They LOVE it there). Thanks for sharing and glad you had a nice vacation! :sunny:

yup ITA thats why when the bashing starts I just sit back and smile .Hope it keeps the people away .
We will be hitting it for our 2nd time in Dec .However I would like to try all the others so I will try to move my June trip to somewhere else.

Agreed. I was very impressed. The grounds were gorgeous, and the resort really has come into its own. Very relaxed atmosphere compared to BWV's, so I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. I have no problem with SSR, I think they have done a fantastic job with it.

We are also going home for the first time in January. I'm glad to hear that you liked it and that it has a relaxed atmosphere... my DH and I are getting away by ourselves this time :sunny: It sounds exactly what we need!!!

Um -- could someone please, please start a thread bashing SSR -- it helps to keep the riff-raff out. ;) Hence my signature pic and caption.

I love the relaxed feeling I get at SSR, especially after a busy day at the parks! The closeness to DTD can not be beat.

We just returned from our first trip home to SSR. Yes- it's big. Yes- it takes a while to learn the layout. Yes- it is beautiful! We're going back in January and staying at OKW, trying to save points so we can do a big trip in the fall. I'm sad :guilty: that we're not going back to SSR! (And I have always been an Epcot resort lover.)

Has everyone tried Turf Club? It was awesome!

we own at BWV but yes SSR is great. We like the congress park area best.

SSR was gorgeous when we were there in January and can't wait for the next trip. It is fantastic to be so close to DTD and the grounds make the resort very relaxing. We love it!

DH and I spent a week at SSR this past July alone and we absolutely LOVED it! This is the place "for us" when we vacation alone. I'm already planning next year's "getaway" for just the two of us and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves too!

So nice to hear - we will be headed to SSR for the first time next week and are really looking forward to it.

We're on the back stretch, coming around the corner...18 more days to SSR.
