SSR tennis courts question

Hi all,

We are staying at SSR in October and have invited my tennis-loving brother-in-law and his family to join us. I had a few quick questions about the courts I was hoping someone could answer:

1) What is type of surface are they?
2) Do you need to sign up for court time in advance or is it first come, first served?
3) For those of you who have been to SSR lately, how busy are the courts?
4) Is there a rental fee for racquets if you are staying at SSR?
5) Do they also have balls available? I'm assuming you'd have to purchase these.

I believe they are clay. They have a green sand-like surface that needs to be brushed after use. The courts are First Come First Served. (no pun intended but it is still cracking me up!)
The courts are rarely busy, we play shuffleboard alot and the courts are seldom occupied.
You can check out equipment from Community Hall for Free. They will hold your room key. My Dh likes to play, and they give you racquets and balls.
