Do you park near the building where you stay?

Is it easy to walk around the resort?

If not, are there golf carts or something like that to rent?

Are the restaurants good?

Anything else I need to know?

Things you love.....

Things you don't love....

Thanks!

Yes

Yes

No

Are the restaurants good?

Yes, but that is a matter of opinion

Anything else I need to know?

Each section has a pool, but carousel. Grand Stand is the first Bus stop, Springs is the last. Fitness center and spa is one of the best on property. Community center is great, with free DVD rentals.

For the most part, you park by your building. Some buildings are around a central parking lot, such as the Springs and part of the Grandstand, and the other areas have the lot up close to the buildings. Walking around the resort is easy and nice, but it is a big resort so you will cover some distance. Sidewalks are nice and wide and you can walk over to DTD as well. If you don't feel like walking all the time, you can hop a bus and get off at the Springs, which is the last stop and near the main pool, restaurants, community center and hospitality house. We've have eaten at the Artist's Pallete and the food was good and not badly priced. SSR is like OKW in that it is a quiet resort, distanced from the hustle and bustle of the parks. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The main pool is actually one of the nicer ones at WDW, and the Grandstand pool has excellent theming as well. I think the majority of SSR owners will really start to love the fact that the resort is completed and there is no more construction, and also that it is starting to grow-up and near it's full-design potential.

Thank-you so much!!!
I'm renting a car, so the bus stops don't matter but thanks for the info!!
I can park near the building. Our DVC home resort is BWV and I really don't like the parking.

Thank-you for the info! I'm glad that you said it is quiet because the Boardwalk area can get loud. I'll start searching for pic of the pools. Thanks again.

Here is the map of the resort. Hope this helps to give some perspective.

Thank-you Vandy. This is so cool. Now I can get a feel for the resort and won't feel like an ignoramous :)!!

Here are some pics of the main pool and the quiet pool across from DTD. The quiet pool had an incredible view. The last pic is the DTD view we got to enjoy while hanging out!!!

Takes some time to orient yourself and it is big but I love walking around. You can also take the buses to move from place to place

If not, are there golf carts or something like that to rent?

Not that I am aware of

Are the restaurants good?

Love both the Turf Club (TS) and Artist's P (CS)....mmmm .... flatbread!

Anything else I need to know?

Walk to DTD or take the boat!

Things you love.....

High Rock Springs Pool
Spa
Quiet Pool Areas

Thanks for all of the information. Buckeye Fan, you're pictures are wonderful.
I was kind of worried about SSR but now, I'm super excited.

The only golf carts are on the golf course.

Thanks for the kind words and you're welcome!!! :goodvibes I was pleasantly surprised by SSR. I remember reading mixed reviews and when DH and I toured, I fell in love. Also, I forgot to mention that the pics of the quiet pool are in the Congress Park section, which is the closest to DTD. We stayed in the Springs section, which is right across from the main building, but walked to the Congress Park quiet pool quite a bit. It was nice spending time at both pools.

Trust me...you'll have a wonderful trip!!! I haven't met a DVC resort that I haven't liked. :cloud9: Wishing you safe travels. :flower3:
