Just got back from our weekend trip from Feb 13-Feb 16.

We drove down to Jacksonville on Friday night (the 12th), just missing all the snow in GA. We woke up early Saturday and made it to SSR at 9:30. I didn;t expect our room to be ready, but we went ahead and checked in. We were assigned a ready to go room in Carosel, but I asked if there was anythign we could get int he Springs. We knew that the weather was predicted to be warm for Monday and if we took a chance on taking Cuddlebug to the pool on that day, I at least wanted to be close to the pool and our room. The CM found us a room in the Springs section that was not ready (I had no problem with that we were planning on heading to a park anyway), although she had to go back and ask a manager about it. Later as she was giving us our info, she looked at the computer and saw that the status had changed to "ready."

So we decided to take the time and unload the car, basically just throwing all of our stuff into our room and then heading to the park. This also allowed me to get my fleece pullover out of our suitcase, when I realized it was packed and not in the backseat of the car.

So we head over to the Springs and find our room. Walk up to it, and see the laundry basket outside with new sheets/towels and mugs/glasses. HUH? We slide in our keys, unlock the door, and find that the room was NOt ready as the CM had been told by the computer. No biggie. We made sure that no one else still had thier stuff inside, pushed everything int he room over to the couch and made a quick call back the front desk to let them know that the room was indeed not ready. They offered to move us somewhere else, but we told them just to notify housekeeping and we were fine. We came back that afternoon to a nice clean smelling room (you know that Disney resort smell -- home sweet home).

Still an oopsie that I suppose some others would have been livid about. I even wrote housekeeping a note explaining that we were told the room was ready.......

Glad everything got taken care of. I'm pretty easy going - give me a place to dump my stuff and as long as housekeeping kept their part of the bargain - no harm - no foul. Leaving the note was probably a good idea, since there seemed to be a communication problem with whether the room was ready or not. :cool1:
