Hey all,

Just booked my first ressie with the SSR spa! Wahoo! They are accepting ressies starting today. When you call the number listed on the SSR spa page of the WDW website, it will actually put you through to the Grand Floridian spa, but they are accepting reservations for the SSR spa. Very helpful. I just transferred my Grand Floridian spa ressie over to SSR and it was no trouble at all. I am going to try the "Mystic Forest" treatment which combines regular massage with reflexology.

Do you know if there is anywhere other than the Disney site that talks about the spa?

I am trying to find out if the saunas and whirlpool are co-ed or separate?

Also... do you have any idea how much a "membership" to the spa areas costs for DVC members or is it included if you are staying on-site??

From Disney Site:
Purchase Guest memberships, which include the use of the indoor water exercise pool and locker rooms equipped with indoor whirlpools, sauna and steam rooms, on a daily or length-of-stay basis, and make an appointment for a Personal Training session. (Health Club usage is included with any spa service.)

I just called 1-407-827-1100 and was transfered to the SSR spa upon request. SSR will be e-mailing me a list of service's soon. I was so surprised when she answered Saratoga Springs spa I forgot to ask them your questions. Susan

You got through to SSR?! How awesome!! it's all starting to seem so real!!

After they email the list to you, could you cut and paste it onto the Disboards for your DVC buddies? Please??

Thanks for the info I just booked mine!!! I was told that packages cannot receive the 20%dvc member discount. Have you guys been told the same ?

happyrebster: I sure will, if you will explain to me how to cut and paste the info. Susan

Susan,

If you are using a PC (not a Mac), then highlight the entire text of the email message. Then right click on your mouse. It should pull up a menu, and one of the options should be "copy." Scroll down to Copy. Then, come to this board and hit "post reply." When the reply window opens, right click on your mouse again. When the menu appears, click "paste" and the contents of the email should appear in your post.

Let me know if you have any problems. Or a Mac.:p

I also called and requested the email copy of the spa menu. the girl I spoke with said the DVC discount would be applied to "certain" spa treatments and it is indicated on what she is going to email me. If I get it before it is posted, I'll be sure to post it here.

I'm so excited. I was at the spa last may right before it closed and it was wonderful I can't wait to get back!!

I am REALLY excited! The convenience of an onsite full service spa was a BIG selling point of SSR for me. And it was just so great to call and hear someone answer "Saratoga Springs"!

i know exactly what you mean....when she said that, I was so overwhelmed I was like, uh, uh, Is the spa taking reservations yet? My brain turned to mush!!!!

I'm hoping the menu hasn't changed too much since last year....I'm planning on the Ultimate Seaweed Program.

While we wait for the menu? What is everyone else planning on going for?

Treatment is called Mystical Forest. She said that it was the most like what I had booked at GF spa -- a full body massage followed by a foot reflexology treatment.

I've had the seaweed body treatment and other then the funny noises it was making as it bubbled up I really enjoyed the treatment. On the discounts, my understanding is 20% discount to DVC member and quest along with selected(change monthly) treatments at 30%. Also thanks for the cut and paste instructions. Hopefully the spa list will be e-mailed soon, then Diana Lyn or I can post it. Susan

I wanted to sign hubby and me up for something, and then take advantage of the pool.

But I need someone to watch DD-5, and I think that they don't have a kid's club at SSR.

So maybe we have to take turns... Info please on SSR as you find out.

As are the Women's / Men's areas totally seperate, or are there common areas?

Thanks, Goldi

I wish the movie theater showed real Disney stuff, so I could drop off DD with a friend for an hour and a half. Also, we never get to see movies at home because we're so busy. It's one of the things we enjoy on vacation. I've been renting DVD's from Netflix, and taking them with us on our vacations.

Easier than standing in line at Disney, and getting up early (10 a.m. to return. I know, but early for us ;)

How far in advance can you reserve spa treatments? Thanks!

Stimpy -- I'm not sure. They recommend booking a few weeks ahead of your appointment, but no idea how early you can book.

I found a list of spas services on www.allearsnet.com

click on accomadations and then click on SSR. I printed up an 8 page lilst of services offered at the spa.

Is that the current list of services? I thought it looked like a list from the old Disney Institute spa. And it doesn't include several services that they described to me when I called. I think they are releasing a new menu to go with the new digs. They told me that they would email out the list of services to me later this week (suggesting even, perhaps, that it isn't yet finalized). I think it is important to them that they have at least some services offered during MH /Grand OPening week (when we will be there) but I don't know how complete the offerings will be at that time.

Has anyone else booked services for opening week? I read on All Ears that the former Disney Institute spa was once voted one of Conde Nast's top five US spas! Wahoo! If the revised version is even half as wonderful, I will be super thrilled!

I also think that, given all the walking at WDW, they should specialize in some unique foot-soothing treatments. Wouldn't that be cool?!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
