SSMC2006 cruise friends

First of all....a happy VERY belated birthday wish to Jeff!

Stacy...congrats on the cruise! I'm sure you'll have a good time with your "other" friends!;)

Julie...loved the picture of you and Matt with your furry friends! I showed it to Dana and she said "She's really cute! I love her hair!"

It's my spring break from preschool so I came out to Missouri to visit Dana at her college for a couple of days. She's in class now, so I'm just hanging out at the Holiday Inn Express. At least the drive out here was much more relaxing than my last trip! No ice storm this time!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Well, I found us on page 3 this morning, and figured we needed to be bumped up!

Haylee sprained her wrist the other night! We were not too sure if it was broken, so we iced it over night. Then the next day we went to the ER. Spent a couple of hours and found out its just a bad sprain. Good News! At the hospital every nurse, doctor, x-ray techs, even the registration staff asked how it happened...I was thinking to myself, why dont you just come out and ask her what you really want...Did your mom do this to you? She told everyone of them the story (Her and Krystina were goofing around on the couch, Haylee fell off, and Krystina fell off on top her her hand and wrist), and kept asking me why are they still asking what happened? I told her because they want to know if there was abuse in the house, and that they were just trying to protect her. She said, oh they want to know it you did it? I said yep!

Shes feeling better today! And running and acting goofy again, I told her shes going to end up with something broken if she keeps it up.

Its supposed to snow here again today, Lets hope it passes us over! I am so sick of snow, that I would move to Florida today if given the opportunity!

pixiedust: for Haylee! Sometimes those sprains are just as bad as a break, if not worse.

The snow stuff is for the birds! Actually, we are starting to see them, so that is a good sign that spring is on it's way! :cheer2: I even saw flowers starting to peek out - I can't wait. Every once and a while we get a day when we can actually play outside and it feels so good. I'm looking forward to many, many more.

Baseball starts tomorrow for Cameron. Between Cameron doing that & Walker doing hockey & soccer, we have officially moved into busy season around here. :scared:

Glad to see Haylee is on the mend.

We've been in the situation of the hospital asking questions when we took Deanna into emergency for the 2nd time in 6 months. She was only 2 so they really couldn't get the info from her that they wanted. They did call my physician at 10 PM on a Sunday night to see if he ever noticed signs of abuse. My older kids and our Dr's kids were in class together so at least he knew us on a personal level, especially since Deanna pretty much only went to the doctors for well child check ups. We had to go and see her doctor the next day, while checking out the nurse asked her if she wanted a sucker or sticker for being so good. Deanna said "I wasn't good, I hope my mommy doesn't beat my butt". Thankfully, we actually got through those years without a call from Child Protective Services.

Thanks for the well wishes for Haylee...She is still complaining of pain in the wrist area, and the ER told us if she had pain after 3 days she may have a small brake, so I am going to call the pediatric orthopaedic dr. on Monday and set an appointment with him or her. Hopefully its just residual pain and not anything more, but I want to be sure. One thing thats good is it was her right hand and she's a lefty.

As far as the girls being home while I'm at work, things have worked good this week...Monday they were by themselves, my dad took them to lunch. Tuesday we had the ER (happened Monday night after I got home), so they were with me all day, Wednesday and Thursday they were with my mom, and Friday and today they were at home...They did great, I'm very proud of them. They followed the rules, didnt fight, and everything went well.

This weekend is one of our not so busy weekends, we just have a b-day party for my brother tomorrow. The rest of the weekend will be things around the house. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Tina - I am glad to hear she's healing and hope it's nothing too serious. How wonderful they did so well this week  I thnk it also speaks to good parenting :)

We bought baby furniture yesterday :scared1: and the crib gets here Monday but the paint we want isn't available for a month at our local Ace (Benjamin Moore Aura - low chemicals, almost "green" ) so we're looking to see if the B. Moore store is near us and has it.

How exciting, Julie!

Just wait until you see how much room that little baby, most likely less than 10#, takes up. Swing, stroller, bouncy seat, exersaucer, high chair, a gazillion diapers and wipes. :faint:

Hugs, prayers, congratulations and Pixie Dust for everyone who is in need of them.
I am sorry I have been so darn busy again lately I haven't visited much. I hope every one of you and yours are doing ok. I will do my best to try and keep up this month. I took a few less shifts at the FD in April.
(picking up the BOAT sometime this month) so I need to get a few things done.

Have a great week cruise buddies!

Peope have babies less than 10 lbs?? :lmao:

And just wait until they get 3 and 4 and need ipods and Wii games and Hannah Montana everything under the sun----the days of swings and bouncy seats will be just a memory and the toys get little and alot more $$$$$.

Good morning!:surfweb:

Just catching up before I'm off to work.
Tina - Yikes for Haylee but I'm glad she is ok. Knock on wood we never had to go thru any ER visits like that. Nick's a klutz sometimes but no major injuries.

Julie - Have you checked Home Depot for paint. I know mine now carries a new "green" paint. Not sure if they have the color you are looking for.

I had a very busy week which is why I didn't get a chance to get back on the boards till today. I had a yucky State test to take Saturday morning and it eems like almost every night I had something to do with Boy Scouts.
Even though we had some snow on Friday one good thing did happen. We got our new gas grill together and grilled some burgers yesterday!!! There is nothing like a burger on the grill!

Cameron was all of 4# when we brought him home. :upsidedow You'd never know it today as he certainly made up for being that small.

Steve, if we ever get rid of this snow for good, it will be time to get your boat out in the water and christen her.

Stacy, I agree......I love the taste of anything on the grill.

Cindy, we have to get it out of shrink wrap and picked up from Bass Pro first:rotfl:

Stacy, I agree with you and Cindy......I love the taste of anything on the grill. We use the one at the FD all winter long. But cooking on our at home seems to just be even tastier.

The Disney Channel Games is the modern day version of Battle of the Network Stars--only with all the kids from the Disney Channel shows participating.

And yes, Julia was SO SO upset that she missed out on the Hannah/Miley/Jonas Bros show, I couldn't bare to leave her out again.....that means that Bruce gets to listen to the zillion screaming girls along with me!! :lmao:
I'm SO sad that we're going to miss those games/concert, but we'll be in Norfolk for my niece's 1st communion.
HAPPY Easter from our growing family to yours!

Awww, what a cute family!!!
My nephew and his wife should be having their 1st baby today. I'll be a Great Aunt for the 5th time and this will be Carol's (scrappy910) 3rd grand child.
Congrats Great Aunt Gail!!! And Grandma Carol!!! :woohoo:
We are in Destin, Fl and it was pretty darn cool and WINDY today. We are doing shopping and resort activities instead. We of course got our annual sunburn yesterday so the cooler weather was a welcome break.

Even with the cooler weather I keep reminding myself - the only white stuff is sand. Off to eat some great seafood!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you had a great vacation, Erin!! I'm with you, I love great seafood, and we get a lot of it here in Florida.
We have been doing alot of painting too. We are currently working on the guest bedroom/craft room. It is Mickey Mouse paints red below the chair rail and Main Street Lights yellow above. I think it's cool. Last night we went out and ordered a daybed with trundle for the room and the furniture store was running a promotion if you spent $1200 you get a cruise for 2, so spend we did. I should be getting an information packet in the mail about that soon. Friends of ours told us about it since they bought a bedroom set for their daughter and her brother and sister-in-law bought themselves a sectional so we will have someone to cruise with (it won't be the same as cruising with you guys) but it will be fun!!!
New furniture, and a cruise, sounds like a great deal!!!

Awww, poor Haylee!!! I'm glad to see that she's on the mend!!! :wizard:

Thankfully for us, we're at the end of our cheerleading season. One more competition on Saturday, then we're done until July. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when they're both in different activities. :confused3

Baby furniture?!?!? How fun!!! Does it make it all a little real now???
(picking up the BOAT sometime this month) so I need to get a few things done.
Oohh, the boat sounds fabulous. I bet that you can't wait until the weather gets nicer up there!!!
And just wait until they get 3 and 4 and need ipods and Wii games and Hannah Montana everything under the sun----the days of swings and bouncy seats will be just a memory and the toys get little and alot more $$$$$.
Isn't that the truth!!! When did my little girls grow up?!?!?!:confused3
Even though we had some snow on Friday one good thing did happen. We got our new gas grill together and grilled some burgers yesterday!!! There is nothing like a burger on the grill!
Oohh, you are very right!! I think that we're going to do some grilling out this week!!

Ok, so I'm FINALLY caught up!! Things have been very busy around here, but we're on spring break this week. I made Chris take the week off, and we're working on our master bathroom that Chris gutted a couple of years ago, and has never finished. So, that is our project for the week!!!

I hope that everyone has a GREAT, FABULOUS week!!

WOW, did everyone see that power post from Amy!

Cindy, we have to get it out of shrink wrap and picked up from Bass Pro first:rotfl:

Yeah, that would be a good idea.

Big news from our house. The circle journals went in the mail today to Tina. And with that, I hear I am officially done!!! :dance3:

It's been fun, but boy, does it feel like the SSMC06 was a long time ago.

Well, we officially don't have to watch Animal Planet anymore! This afternoon I was working in my craft room and I looked out the window and saw a gator. This is typical, there are 3 in the pond behind our house--2 6fters and a 12 fter. Well this guy today was pretty close to our side of the lake and he had this weird hungry look in his eyes.

The next thing I know, the things JUMPS out of the water and leaps about 4 feet and pulls back a huge fish! Here's a shot of him swimming away with his catch.

We didn't have anything like this in NY, that's for sure!!

ETA---these pics were taken from my upstairs window, I was no where near the gator, or even outside and the girls were standing right next to me getting their education on the circle of life!
