Squishies in Japan (or around any of the parks)?

My daughters keep telling me they want to buy squishies from Japan when we arrive in two weeks. These things are apparently like stress balls. I think these are the newest "fidget spinner" type craze.

Has anyone seen these in Japan and/or around any of the other countries or parks? If so, what do they look like and what is the cost?

Thanks so much!

Your best bet is the Japan pavilion in Epcot. I think I've seen them there before for sure.

There's a lot of that sort of stuff in the anime area- akhibara (spelling)? Of Tokyo. Some in the tourist shops, lots in the capsule machines- you know those toy machines at grocery stores where you put quarters in and get toys in little plastic bubbles? Those are huge in Japan, there are entire stores of just those.

Sorry, can't remember if there was stuff at Disney. But chances are, yes. Tomorrow land would be the first place I'd look.

Here is a link of a youtube video that shows some purchased at the Japan pavilion. They think they cost around $2.99. Skip ahead to around 12:30 of the video to see them.

Thanks! I guess I just don't get the connection between Japan and squishies....lol.

It is apart of the Kawaii which is just "cute" and is very much apart of Japanese pop culture. It is so funny to me that loving this stuff use to be seen as bad since it was mostly nerdy kids like me that had it but in Japan it is okay for kids to grown adults to be lovers of all things "cute". Now it seems kids want anything and everything coming out of Japan.

And the connection, lol, is that the Japanese appear to really like knicknacks and doodads and cheesy souvenirs. If you get a chance, go to a local festival- between the food and the cheap tat, kid heaven. There are light up fidget spinners. I haven't seen those in the us.

Hahaha! Thanks all! Now I get it with the anime stuff (which my kids are totally NOT into)...lol. And "squishie hunters? Wow that's some serious love of squishies.

The neighborhood I mentioned is worth checking out for the kids even if they aren't into anime. The toys in the capsule machines are actually mostly not anime. Today I got a hat for a cat and a squishy frog. I'm easily entertained that way. And it has a lot of "tax free" shops...which roughly translates into stuff only a tourist would buy.

In the China pavillion, they had different squishies as well. My daughter picked out a Panda one in July.

Cool thanks! Surprised that they don't have general character ones in the other parks. Seems they could be a hot seller.
