Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

Hi! I don't remember who asked, but it was Gardengrocer.com, not green grocer that I used before. Got the recommendation on the DIS somewhere.

Dan, first I hope that Parker is feeling better; second, I hope you had a great birthday.

I love the DTD update and the balloon pictures. I think Mark and I will definitely do that next year. :thumbsup2

i have read that some people have asked the CM's if they need a body and some say yes some say no, so i just didnt put one in, and didnt ask that way you cant get in trouble for dissobaying them.
It is always easier to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission!!! :thumbsup2
no thanks for calling me on it, and not making fun of me, it is actually called

characters in flight i believe...i have a picture of it, but did not post it of the name...i just typed it wrong.
I remember reading that somewhere now, but at the time I was reading your update I honestly couldn't think of what it was called either!!!
i thought i could make that out in the pictures with cirque in them but im not sure if that is it or not.
:confused3
I actually went back and looked a little closer at your pictures. I'm pretty sure OKW is between the golf course and Epcot in your one picture. I can't get oriented good enough to find Hospitality House, but I can tell some of the buildings are light blue in color, which fits right in with the theming!!!
well there is certainly a different feeling that you are used to, i have been to many observation towers and such but it is a very different feeling form those when the item you are in is moving around "somewhat" freely.
There is a lot to be said for good ole Terra Firma!!! :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 in 2 chapters you get to see glenn make an apperance in my TR.
Well there's something to build anticipation!!! :rolleyes1 :sad2:

BTW, hope you had a wonderful birthday my friend!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :yay: :yay:
Just checking in and checking on Marv's behavior!!!:rotfl2:
Shouldn't you be out lap dancing a pig or something??? :rolleyes1

Happy Birthday, Dan! (Even if it is late.... I hope you had a great day!)

I think you can't see HH in the pic, it would be further to the left. The golf course green you can see in the middle of the building must be #5 on the OKW map, so the buildings to the right of it are buildings 23-29. HH would be next to them, but there the pic ends... I guess Dan was more focusing on Epcot that OKW! :goodvibes

I love the balloon ride pictures, what great views!
I think I would've had a heart attack when it tilted though!
I hope you had a great b/day yesterday!

I'm guessing you mean that HH is just out of the picture, to the right. Looking at an aerial view on google from DTD towards Epcot, I'm guessing the predominant fairway in the middle of the buildings is the one between Peninsular Road (to the right) and Turtle Pond (to the left), and the buildings furthest to the right are the one's just off the Peninsular Road bus stop, which puts HH just out of view to the right in Dan's pic.

Edited: Just checked resort map and agree that is fairway/green#5 and the buildings to the right of that are 23-29!

Yes, I violated Katharina's rule: never post in haste... I have no idea how I got left and right mixed up... :confused3

all caught up again.

great updates and pics.

the balloon pics r great. If that happened to me with the balloon moving when I was up there I would have been heard all over Orlando. :rotfl2:

Hope you had a great Birthday.

Just checking in, Dan to say hi, and see if there are any cute Parker pictures for us to see. You guys having a fun Christmas season so far?? Done anything recently to put you in that Christmasy mood??

were back, we had a great long weekend, we went out east a few hours to a nice state park that has a lodge...candis parents watched parker, so it was some good quite time for us...out of about 200 rooms i think i heard maybe 25 were booked max...so it was great, we spent most of the time sitting in front of the fireplace. monday we were in front of it for about 5 hours straight, ocaisionlly getting up to throw another log on and thats it.

i have some pics, but none with me right now.

Just checking in and checking on Marv's behavior!!!:rotfl2:
hey, thanks for keeping marv in check.
:thumbsup2
We are definitely going to schedule a ride in the balloon. I love your photos! Want to take some of my own now! :woohoo:
you will love it, and you cant take enough pictures while up there. i think i took video as well, but i dont remember it has been a while.

Hi Dan! Happy Birthday!!!

Parker is so cute trying to put that big box away!

Good job on the potato head packing! Practice makes perfect, huh?

I so want to take that balloon ride!!! I have a regular balloon ride on my dream list - that would be a good start - I've been parasailing thanks to DS making be go and I loved it!!! Now the tipping thing - Hmmm, if a whole bunch of people stand on one side, the balloon will tip - ya think???:headache: I wonder why there are always people in every crowd who just can't think for themselves! :lmao:
thanks, he does really good at putting stuff away, and in its place, he gets angry at you if you put something away where it doesnt go.

i think a hot air baloon ride would be awesome as well, you dont see many of those going up anymore, but i bet it would be awesome.

howdy, yep we have been busy, hope to have some pics up of our weekend soon, it was very christmasy...this weekend is another christmas celebration with part of candis family. we almost have all our presents wrapped, of course still have a few people to get stuff for that always seem to creep up at hte last minute, like ahh man i got more people to get stuff for.

then we kick it into high gear next week.

Your pictures from the Characters in Flight experience are GORGEOUS! Love seeing Disney from high up! Love it even more that YOU took the pictures, I got to enjoy them, and I didn't have to go up on that wobbly balloon! I'm totally with Candi on that one!

Marv had been in top form on my thread comparing me to a tree!!!!:lmao:While I realise I have BRANCHED out into uploading pix .... A TREE:scared1::lmao: Kathy we are gonna get him !!!!!;):lmao:

would your kids like to see it from up there, i bet they would.

even though it can be a little unsettling for some, i think it is something that everyone should try once to see the full effect of what you can see up there.

Hey Dan!

All caught up. Or UP if you so prefer.

Great photos as always!
hey GB, thanks and glad to see you around, hope you and your family have a great christmas.

Chapter 29. Snow and Disney quest.

this chapter will have a little of both stuff of the present and stuff of disney.

first present stuff.
before it started to get cold we put up our lights at home, parker helped, mostly by making faces at mama.
DSC03694.jpg

and building his first snow man with of course a disney hat on top that we got from the disney store when we recycled some water bottles with them.
DSC03770.jpg

and recently we went away this last weekend for a long weekend to a inn by candis parents...they went with us for a the sunday brunch and to celebrate my birthday there, then they left and took parker with them for a few days while candi and i stayed behind...it was nice and relaxing and the best part during the week there was hardly anyone there, of the roughly 200 rooms there were about 30 people total there.

needless to say it was very quite sitting in front of the fireplace all day.

this is the view from outside our window toward the tobaggon run that we could watch.
DSC03781.jpg

it is a 1/4 mile frozen track that you can slide down on tobagoons, it is alot of fun goes about 35 miles an hour.
DSC03782.jpg

the fire pit by the lookout to watch the people sliding down.
DSC03783.jpg

we took a hike through the trails, candi loved the snow covered trees.
DSC03788.jpg

we even saw 5 swans out swimming in the lake
DSC03790.jpg

this is pretty much what we did for about 8 hours of the day.
DSC03794.jpg

sat and relaxed bythe fire, and occasionally got up to put another log on.

candi was suppose to act serious like she was reading her book but she couldnt get a straight face.
DSC03797.jpg

after riding a balloon and eating lunch at earls, we headed back over to disney quest via the boat ride, it was nice not having to walk the whole way over, and the boat ride was relaxing as well.

once there we went to the buzz astroblaster game which was very stupid, the car would not go the way we were directing it, and the shots were not firing correctly, needless to say it was a bust and we would not ride it again.

we played alot on the kid area above it, and parker liked each game, but he was looking around after playing them for the tickets like at chucky cheese.
DSC01466.jpg

DSC02170.jpg

he liked this game cause he could just drop the balls in there, but he didnt even try and get the higher point ones.
DSC02169.jpg

DSC02167.jpg

or course we had to do skee ball which is a family favorite.
DSC02179.jpg

i love the pop a shot games, and usually do pretty good at them even setting high scores when i play...this time was no different, i noticed that the high score was 250 and i thought i can beat that...this one had 4 stages to play as long as you kept hitting the point targets you go to the next level....well i did and i didnt notice it but my dad took pictures because i had an audience.
DSC02171.jpg

aparently this mom was trying to get her boys to leave but they wanted to see what score i ended up with.
DSC02173.jpg

i ended up beating the high score by 85 points.

happy with crushing it i walked away and watched parker drive the race car for about 30 minute straight, good thing no one else wanted to ride it cause he was not getting off that thing. he thought he was such a big man.
DSC01468.jpg

DSC01470-1.jpg

we also did the big game where you try and get hockey goals it was kinda fun, my dad crushed everyone both times he played.
DSC01476.jpg

we were winding down our playing and wanted to get back to change before our evening plans.

i went back to the basketball game one more time before it was time to go and there was another guy about my age there playing, he was getting close to my high score and i was getting nervous, he missed it by 3 points, i said nice job to him and i was glad he didnt beat my score, he said ohh your the one that has the high score ive been trying to beat that for like 30 minutes now.

there was a young kid after him that went and then it was my turn.

i ended up beating my previous score by over 40 points and put the new high score close to 400 (according to my notes) when i was done, i noticed that guy was standing there watching and he looks at me and says "ahh crap, now i gotta beat that, thanks alot" he smiled then smacked me on the back and said good job.

i walked away laughing wondering how many times he was going to play it to try and beat it.

parker played a few last minute games, and we headed out to the bus stop.

so our first time at disney quest, we thought it was neat, and glad we tried it but would we go back, prob. not unless we had alot of the add on options on our tickets we wouldnt, we are not big game fans, and the only thing i really played was the skeeball, and basketball...parker had fun, so that was good, but we wouldnt pay OOP to do it, only if we had hte extra days on our tickets would we.

parker was so exausted from playing his games, that he crashed on the bus, he just curled up on candi and fell asleep.
DSC02181.jpg

he even stayed asleep to transfer buses outside our main gate at FW to get on the internal bus to our site.
DSC01478.jpg

he was still asleep at the camper, so we laid him down to sleep while candi and i got ready for our night out.

coming up was the luau and our DIS meet with glenn and his family.

It looked like a winter wonderland! Very pretty!

I feel the same way about Disney Quest, wouldn't pay OOP for it but if we have room left on our tickets for it, well then maybe we will try it out.

Ugh. Disney Quest. I tried it once because I had the fun option on my ticket one year. Never again. I wasn't impressed. I also tried the astroblaster and had the same problems you did!

Love the photos of you and Candi reading by the fire. The lodge looks beautiful.

Parker is such a hoot...I love him in the race car; he just looks so intent. We've not done Disney Quest since it first opened and they didn't have 1/4 of what they have now (but that was like 10-12 years ago).

A sleeping child...such a blessing and so cute.
