I agree it’s not likely but there is always a chance and the insurance does put people at ease and with such a large purchase it’s really pennies in the grand scheme of things.IANAL, but I can’t think of a single logical scenario where they, being the developer/administrators, could pull that off.
Just remember, that they sell points that they took back via ROFR, so I am not sure a direct buyer would be protected if there is a title issue from the owners they got the points from?
Tainted ROFR - thats my new band nameCan DVD legally shrug?
But even if DVD could, would they? That would be a major hit to the brand.
If they ended up with the odd tainted rofr points it’s probably in their best interest to correct before it negatively impacted buyers.
I tend to think only if a huge wave of tainted rofr happened would Disney even start to consider passing the buck, but I’m still not sure they could. When I sell my DVC contract, it is fully intact to the next owner. When DVD rofrs, they have the ability to repackage. The technicalities might put the onus back on them? I just don’t know.
Its part of the new incentives so I think they are taking it seriously. I was told i couldnt get it if I chose to go with the old ones.I wonder how closely they're tracking this canvas print gift with old vs. new incentives. We worked with our guide getting everything setup with the old incentives on 2/9, but didn't sign the docusign until 2/10 which is the first day of the new incentives. Existing member buying 200 VDH points.
I'm quite surprised that they're giving you 75 days for closing. I asked my guide assuming that 60 days was the norm that they provide, but she was quite insistent that 30 days is it.
I think that was a good decision.!!If anyone was curious, after a good night sleep, I decided not to forgo my CCV direct contract I had drawn up in the previous cycle for SSR. It was tempting but I couldn’t let CCV go, especially with a much longer shelf life. I shall be content with my 529 direct. Now I have to decide what I’ll call my CCV/VGF mashup of points? Rustically Posh? Glamour in the woods?
Thanks for the math! @airjay75
They are pretty cheap for a 3bdrm.!! I'm definitely planning on trying them out.The only thing that really intrigued me at SSR were the treehouses. They are supposed to be renovated in summer 26, I am sure they’ll be really nice after that. However, with 60 of them, I just don’t see the demand being through the roof there during popular times of the year like at CCV.

This^ (Only, if extra direct SAP was needed)I love SSR, but no way would I buy it direct when you could get it resale in the $80s or $90s per point.
He said it was "Mary Blair-inspired." But again, I guess we'll wait and see.
I'm guessing similar to all the decor at BLT?oh, maybe it's Joey Chou! I love his work! Hopefully you will get it!
Yes they did!Did they say where at VDH it's hanging on the wall? We might be able to figure out what it is based on that info.
Inspired byTrying to keep up with this thread.. i'm only on page 20. lol

That stuff is just inspired by, not actual Mary Blair artwork... Right?
Congrats, that ended up a great outcome with your VGC vs VDH Dilemma.!!In case anyone is curious about the pricing breakdown of our 160 VDH points with this incentive...
So that brings our total to $30,532
$190.83 per point

Probably a big enough nightmare that you would not only not owe them, but they would pay you to keep quiet about. lolDisney does resell those but just my take, if they bought a contract or sold a foreclosed contract that the prior owners owed dues on I would assume Disney would wipe the slate. Again that is just my take as it would be a nightmare PR wise that Disney sold xxx resort and I had to pay $xx,xxx in unpaid dues stories.
I don't have any real evidence one way or another though.
Legally, sure... but hard to imagine they would want to raise a stink about it, publicly. Can DVD legally shrug?

Yes for peace of mind it’s 0.6% on a $30k contract which is certainly not going to break you.For us, $180 was well worth my piece of mind for any potential issues down the road that could come in to play, even if the chances were slim.

Does anyone have a picture of this?Yes they did!
Also curious. Can’t bring myself to read all the pages I missed so I look forward to learning about what this is in future posts.Does anyone have a picture of this?
