I will be in Orlando from March 2-10 and want to stop by WDW and try out some restaurants, etc.

Will I be missing most of the Spring Break crowd? (fingers crossed).

I don't want to even get close to WDW if it's under Spring Break Assault!!!

I will be at WDW for at least a portion of the time you're talking about. From all that I've found during my research of this time frame, we should have no MAJOR crowds. That's not to say that it will be "DEAD." I just think the main Spring Break crowds won't begin to arrive until March 12 & 13, with the crowds growing heavier toward the end of March/beginning of April.

I don't know if this is any indication of the level of crowds or not, but I had no problems at all booking what are normally considered very hard-to-get priority seatings just a week or so ago for Mar 6-Mar 12. (This is including the coveted Cinderella's Royal Table character breakfast!)

If we can scrape up the $$, we are in the planning stages of a quick 4 day trip 3/11-3/15. I had the same concerns but I read on another board that Florida's spring breaks are closer to the end of March. I chose these dates because my DD is out of school for teacher workdays, not spring break. Her spring break begins the Thursday before Easter & she is back to school, the following Monday. I assumed most spring breaks were more around Easter than early March. I am trying to be optimistic about the crowds & I think DznyDreams is probably accurate. It seems to me that there is plenty of availability at the resorts for my time frame.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Hi, I can tell you that some colleges will be on spring break at that time, but I believe most colleges will be a few weeks later (I am actually going on March 12). And since Easter falls in April this year I am assuming most younger children won't be on spring break then either. Enjoy your trip!

There is a thread on this theme park attractions and strategies board dealing with 2004 spring breaks, where people have been posting their spring break times. That may be of some help.

Are some people getting spring break & winter break mixed up!

In the north, "winter break" starts around third week in Feb until end of Feb early March. "Spring break" is in April.

Hawk.

Nope, Hawk. Some of us aren't fortunate enough to have both a winter and spring break. My DD's Spring Break (in east Texas) is March 8-12.

After this, the only "break" she will get before the last day of school is Good Friday (the one day ONLY). The last day of school in her district is May 27th.

Another Texas resident here. Nope, no winter breaks for us. We only get Spring break. Our break is also March 8-12. But my niece an nephew who live close to Dallas have Spring break the week after we do.

Thanks to all for your great answers and feedback. We too only get a Spring Break. I guess our "winter break" is Christmas!! :p

And Belle1962...thanks for the link to that thread. Very helpful.:)
